a great entertainment with a lot of nostalgic feeling for those who have stayed in kota for their iit preparation. A great piece of emotion as well as satire. Even who haven't been to kota can feel all the emotions at once with this web series.this series has made the expectations a lot high for those who are further planning to go and study in kota. Best part was jeetu sir and the students bonding. The way the students can share every detail of their life with teacher and he has actually become a life coach to them.

Watch it to rewatch and appreciate!
Love the usage of Black and White filter as a major part of the show. It signifies the colors JEE Aspirants see in their 2 year journey wherein they seek anything but 2 answers to any question outside their question bank. The show doesn't encounter a lot of big issues that the students face however, the ones they do are depicted beautifully. The first 3 episodes are more than enough to get anyone hooked to this web series as it manages to deal with the three biggest issues students face. Just when you think it goes off track with the 4th episode, they swing back with the 5th episode and that's what is lovely about this web series. It stays relevant till the very end. It does justice to the viewers it attracts out of word of mouth or maybe just simple nostalgia. This web series does justice to the hard working students who go through this entire process by having the world know where things were different between these innocent but dedicated kids and themselves irrespective of what field they themselves are involved in!

Good
"Kota...In the area of education this city has created an identity for itself nationally as well as internationally. And right from the start, Maheshwari classes has been carrying the banner of success on this path to victory."

These lines introduce the coaching centre in TVF's latest web series 'Kota Factory' in association with Unacademy before the camera zooms out of the TV screen and immediately we are introduced to a monochromatic life of the students studying in Maheshwari Classes. This tone acts as the external resonance of the student's internal haze. The viewers immediately get connected to the psyche of all the IIT-JEE aspirants and their inner turmoil.

Vaibhav(played by Mayur More) migrates from Itarsi to Kota to prepare for India's toughest college entrance exam. Unable to get into the desired Maheshwari Coaching Classes, he gets admitted into Prodigy-the 2nd best. Being a late entrant, 'studying' isn't the only hurdle he faces. However we are introduced to some beautiful characters who helps him get accustomed with the horrors of mess-food, insomnia and constipation.

The phenomenal writing of the series is helmed by writers Himanshu Chouhan, Saurabh Khanna, Abhishek Yadav and Sandeep Jain as they flawlessly pen down earthy and organic characters. Be it Vaibhav or his economically weak but extremely trustworthy friend Meena(played wonderfully by Ranjan Rai) or the black sheep of the family but extremely amusing Uday(played by Alam Khan), both of them stands beside Vaibhav through thick and thin. Be it their mutual loathing of the mess-food or helping Vaibhav with his question paper solving , the trio is a force to reckon. Apart from the protagonists, there are several supporting characters who makes us root for them equally. Be it Uday's straightforward girlfriend Shivangi(played by Ahsaas Channa) or the minimalist Varthika(played by Revathi Pillai) or the fickle-minded Meenal(played by Urvi Singh), all of them makes us relate to them through their stunning performance. However, the character of Jitendra Kumar, affectionately addressed as 'Jeetu Bhaiyya' steals the show. He is that approachable teacher who always help the students of Prodigy take decisions. With a plethora of earthy and grounded characters, Kota Factory portrays reality as it is instead of overdramatising anything.
The direction of Raghav Subbu is gratuitously combined with Jerin Paul's cinematography with ample amount of bird's eye view to show how the plenty of students are walking, as if they are rats running in the same race. The camera emotes polychromatically instead of a restricted colour tone. Gourav Gopal Jha'a editing, blended by Simran Hora and Karthik Rao's eargasmic music makes the show eventful.
All in all, creator Saurabh Khanna asks the viewer to blend in(without a 21 days time period) the journey into the lives of several IIT aspirants and celebrate friendship, love, dreams and most importantly- hope.

A Reminiscent Watch
Kota Factory stands distinctly among the plethora of repetitive content on the web. All the characters are impeccably portrayed, resonating with the masses who may have been IIT aspirants, if not essentially in Kota. The entire series is shot in Black & White, which somehow gets the viewer even more engrossed in the content. It has a steady screen play with hardly any dull moments. The series exceeds the expectations set by the Teaser.

TVF’s Kota Factory follows the story of a small-town boy Vaibhav who, like many others, dreams of making it into IIT. The name of the series itself indicates how the city is known for manufacturing the “ideal” students for IIT. It goes away from the conventional colour to black and white, which sets the mood perfectly – monotonous and gloomy, along with the intense pressure of emerging victorious in this tough competition. However, in the midst of the gloom, we get to see Vaibhav’s blooming friendship with his fellow Prodigy students, Meena and Uday. While all three of them have different shades of character, they all share the same goal, help each other through their insecurities and act as constant pillars of support to each other. What makes the series even better is the trio’s relationship with their teacher, Jeetu, who not only guides them through Physics but also through life as their “agony aunt”, making us all wish we had a mentor like him. However, the show is not without its faults with its extreme level of promotion of Unacademy, deviating from its focus with the introduction of Vaibhav’s love interest, Vartika, and the gross stereotypical portrayal of Meenal, the batch topper of the trio. With Vaibhav now moving to the more prestigious institute Maheshwari in the last episode, it will be interesting to see what is to come for him and his friends.

Great
The black and white series is sure to take you down the path of memory lane, making you reminiscent of your days of IIT or Medical aspirants. It explores the travails of young IIT aspirants in Kota as they aspire to enroll themselves in IITs. It works as a gentle satire on the education system where coaching is more important than schools and wherein only that is focused which is going to appear in exams, regardless of an overall intention of learning. It also discusses Indian parents and their hopes for their children's future.
The journey of young 16-17 year old students is sure to remind you of your classroom stories. The series has a strong element of nostalgia. The leave-taking at the end is extremely emotional. The series is specifically relatable for the IIT-Medical aspirants and generally relatable for the students who have had coaching for at least once in their lives.
Though the series is largely good and greatly appreciated by students, it takes up a slow turn at certain places. The narrative becomes slightly slow at places.
Overall the series is great and a must watch for all the coaching students in the country.
