Belle meets Dr Bailey's wife at the fundraiser, and enjoys making him sweat. However, Lisa's arrival prevents her from revealing the truth. She later tells Charity that she has been having an affair with a married man, and wants help destroying her lover's marriage. Finn makes plans for Pete's future after he is released, but Victoria and Holly are not impressed by his ideas. David drowns his sorrows, while Jai makes a shocking suggestion

Pollard persuades David to go through with the operation, which puts Tracy in an awkward situation when an oblivious Jacob returns home from Portugal and wonders where he is. Dr Bailey tells Belle that it is over between them, Harriet realises she has to do something to restore Ashley's confidence in his abilities, and Megan tells Jai that he has to accept that it is over between them

A restless David decides to discharge himself from hospital, despite warnings from a nurse that he needs time to recover. Leyla tries to make excuses for his absence to Jacob, only for him to return home, determined to keep his operation a secret. Ashley is told that Edna has passed away, but decides not to tell Arthur and Sandy, and Aaron makes a promise to Liv

Ashley breaks the sad news of Edna's death to Sandy and Harriet, revealing how she wanted to keep her illness a secret. Sandy is angry that his son denied him the chance to say goodbye. Andy and Chrissie return home, and discover to their surprise that Charity has been hired to help out at Home Farm. Tracy catches Jacob trying to arrange a return flight to Portugal, and Aaron refuses to give Liv any more money - so she tries to steal from Chas

Chrissie asks Lawrence to give her a DNA sample so she can determine who her real father is - but is not prepared for his shocking response. Pollard discovers that Jacob has booked a flight to Portugal using his credit card, and Aaron receives a visit from the police, who tell him that Liv has been caught shoplifting. Ashley reveals that Edna had asked him to perform her funeral service

Pete is released from prison, and delivers a letter from Gordon to Aaron, leaving Robert uncertain whether to pass on the potentially traumatic message. Chrissie tells Andy that she intends to tell Lachlan the truth, and then leave Emmerdale - but he warns her to stop punishing Lawrence. Ashley questions his faith as he sees how Pearl and Sandy cope with Edna's death, and there is an unexpected visitor at Home Farm

Lawrence tries to bribe Ronnie to stay away from his family, but Chrissie is adamant that she wants to know if he is her real father. Aaron offers to go to the trial with Liv, but she refuses to put him through such a traumatic experience and they agree to stay away. Harriet tries to help Ashley with his crisis of faith, Finn refuses to give up on having Pete back in the family business, and Belle sees Bailey in a new light

Holly's meddling results in a violent confrontation as Cain catches Pete in his house and hits him. Pete announces he is leaving for Scotland as soon as possible, and Finn says he wants to come too - but Emma resorts to desperate measures to ensure that they both stay in Emmerdale. Lawrence worries that he has lost Chrissie's trust for good, Belle fears she might be pregnant, and Harriet urges Ashley to attend a dementia support group

Belle is delighted when Holly takes an interest in her love life, and reveals that she is having an affair with a married man. However, she does not realise Holly has been sent to find out the truth by Cain - who misinterprets the information. Ashley refuses to go to the dementia support group until a fellow sufferer needs his help, David returns home from hospital, and Liv comes between Aaron and Robert

Cain is mistakenly convinced that Rakesh is Belle's secret married lover, so he and Holly hold him hostage. However, when Charity discovers that Belle has been out all night, she realises her cousin has made a terrible mistake. Finn begins to suspect Emma is lying to him about her health concerns, Liv stands up to her brother, and Ashley decides to do something to help his fellow dementia sufferers

Emma faces her deception being exposed when Finn and Pete insist on accompanying her when she goes for her test results. Belle realises she has to end her affair with Dr Bailey for her family's sake. Liv sneaks off to attend Gordon's sentencing, but Robert follows and persuades her to talk to Aaron first. Rakesh urges Priya not to tell the police about the kidnapping, and Diane makes a decision about the pub's future

Chas and Charity throw a family party to celebrate as Aaron officially changes his name to Dingle by deed poll. However, Liv and Robert are not invited, as Aaron is furious about Gordon's letter being kept from him. Carly's interest in Pierce stirs Rhona's jealousy, Belle confronts Holly about going behind her back to Cain, and Jimmy and Nicola try to play cupid for Jai

Nicola persuades Carly and Jai to have a drink together, confident this will win the bet with Jimmy. However, her plans end in disaster when Charity interferes. Robert tells a furious Aaron what was in the letter from Gordon, but they do not realise that Liv is listening to their conversation. Ross tries to persuade Pete to stay in the village and work for the family business

The villagers gather at the church to say goodbye to Edna Birch. Sandy is unable to face attending the funeral, so Ashley takes him to the riverside, so they can say their farewells in private. Liv sends a message to the police that could have devastating consequences for Robert, and Holly tries to ruin Cain and Moira's anniversary

Pierce's suspicions are aroused by Vanessa's reaction to seeing a picture of Kirin, so he steals her phone to help track him down. Aaron regrets not confronting his father while he had the chance, while David refuses to let Jacob come to his chemotherapy sessions. Rakesh tells Priya that the firm plan to let him go, and Ashley comes to Harriett with plans for the future

The attraction between Rhona and Pierce grows, but she questions her feelings when Vanessa tells her what he has done, and suggests he is still seeking revenge on Kirin. A familiar face gives David the courage to go through with his first chemotherapy session, Ashley proposes renaming the village hall in memory of Edna, and Priya makes arrangements to secretly provide Kirin with money

Pierce visits Vanessa at home, hoping to discreetly return her phone, but she panics when he angrily confronts her, demanding to know where he can find Kirin. Ashley tries to help his father come to terms with his grief over Edna's death, Jacob has some advice for Pollard, and Rishi is determined to find the perfect woman for Jai

Ashley and Arthur's after-school project goes wrong when the youngster injures himself with a saw. Ashley takes him to hospital, but struggles to cope with the stress of the situation and momentarily forgets why he is there. Pierce buries the hatchet with Rakesh and confesses his love to Rhona, Lawrence fears he is losing his daughter, and Rishi arranges a date for Jai, but may not have been entirely honest

Ashley becomes convinced he has come to hospital to see Laurel during her scan - and does not remember Arthur's injury until they both return home. A visit from the police confirms the missing child has been found, but they also face having to convince a social worker that Ashley is a fit parent. Jai's big date is interrupted by Megan, Chrissie asks Andy to go into business with her

A social worker visits to see if Ashley is fit to look after Arthur, but he takes their agreement very badly. Lawrence asks Sam to sort out a leaking washing machine, but he unwittingly hires Ronnie Hale to do the job, forcing Chrissie to open up to Bernice. Jai refuses to take the hint that Megan is not interested in him, and Doug and Diane urge Pollard to throw Tracy out of the B&B

Lawrence demands that Ronnie leave his family alone, only to find the plumber knows things he would rather keep secret. Doug tries to give Laurel a break from her worries, and Chrissie is delighted when her divorce comes through. Vanessa is less than thrilled when Carly invites Tracy to come and live with them, and Sam fears Megan is considering giving Jai another chance

Lawrence is furious when Rakesh offers Ronnie a job overseeing the Mill conversion, and enlists Sam's help in a drastic attempt to get rid of him once and for all. Charity tries to frame Holly for stealing from Victoria's van, and a reluctant Jimmy is roped into keeping an eye on Ashley and Arthur - but ends up enjoying himself, and offers to help Doug with the secret supervision

Holly is delighted when Cain sticks up for her over the missing money. When she realises Charity set her up, she comes up with a plan to get revenge, which she hopes will impress him even further. Ronnie is horrified at the measures Lawrence is prepared to take to be rid of him. Jimmy uses looking after Ashley as an excuse to get out of doing things around the house. Rodney returns to the village, but does not receive a warm welcome

Holly panics and flees the village after unwittingly making Moira believe that Cain made a pass at her. When her cry for help falls on deaf ears, she falls back on dangerous old habits. Emma gets barred from the pub after a confrontation with Charity, and Finn loses his temper with Ross. Liv feels lonely, but Gabby gives her an idea on how to make new friends

Pete fears that Holly is taking heroin again, and he and Ross scour the village to find her. They eventually find her at the hospital, and Moira holds Pete responsible for her daughter's relapse - but Ross suggests she is to blame. Nicola realises Jimmy has been neglecting his responsibilities in looking after Ashley, Liv steals some alcohol and makes plans to smash up Gordon's old house, and Bernice accuses Ronnie of blackmailing Lawrence
