Dobi reviewed Kota Factory
Doesn't matter you went to an IIT or not. Not even if you didn't prepare for JEE. It's funny, satirical, true to its core and a hell lot inspiring. Honestly, when the trailer came out, my first reaction was "god, not another one." Because clearly there isn't a dearth of shows about engineering students, their lives, etc. But this show clearly stood out. Not just a resonance of the students' lives who take it upon themselves and prepare for JEE with all their heart and soul, it's a great specimen of all the fallacies of our education system that makes us inept to the actual workings of real life, the rote learning that's widely prevalent ( remember Vaibhav trying to cram all the inorganic chemistry?) and the blatant commercialisation of the education sector of which Kota is the quintessential prototype. In all, watch this because it's great. Things can't be said simpler I guess.

A sliver of bliss.
Kota factory is indeed the sliver of bliss in the dark despair of familiar Kota "stories" and experiences that millions have lived. Viewers will find no trouble identifying with turbulent journeys, everyday snags and unfortunate events that characters sail through. The tactful writing and on-point performances hook in the viewer while the cultured incorporation of humor guarantees of an amusing ride.

Highlighting the aspects of a student's life other than textbooks and chalkboards, Kota factory does not shy away from rather hard truths of relationships, failures and mental health. However, the series does seem a little innocuous while addressing the redundancy of Kota culture (maybe because of corporate sponsorship), but still is a huge leap in debunking the prevailing myths and helping people realize of possibilities beyond Kota.

Protagonist Vaibhav Pandey (Mayur More), a teen from a small town, an IIT aspirant, a student at prodigy classes (a coaching institute), Kota is extremely likable. All leads embody a distinguishing flair, like the grit of Vaibhav, the innocence of Meena (Ranjan Raj), the fierceness of Shivangi (Ahsaas Channa), or the liveliness of Uday (Alam Khan), making the show appealing and structured. However, the presence of a resolute guiding light, a knight in shining armor, Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) 'bhaiya', physics faculty, prodigy institute, can often seem too good to be true.

Central themes for episodes are well chosen and resonate with the target audience. Noone will most definitely repent investing time watching this web series, and one may even find themselves repeating some of its clever and hysterical lines.

Now this is another #entertaining series from TVF with #inspiring characters and #emotional true events at the same time to which one can seriously relate . It can rather be said as an eye-opening series for all those IIT aspirants who have just opted this path for satisfying their parents hunger of recognition among the society. It potrays how teenagers are becoming book crammers struggling with their infatuation, studies, food problems but to calm all this situation there are always some people in our lives whom we call #friends . But the last episode is the actual game changer with a

TVF’s Kota factory is a black and white series which shines the brightest. The black and white life is a beautiful metaphor to the situation and life of students being dull due to the burden of studies. The situation feels like an extremely analyzed and anyone can relate to it and live it instead of just viewing it. The series contains some iconic punch lines that make you laugh hard or moments that make you nostalgic. The storyline is exceptional and really amazing. The rawness of the story depicts the beauty of the show. The cast has an amazing on-screen chemistry and exceptional acting skills. It is a must-watch for everyone out there.

Masterpiece!
Kota Factory is a drama web series by TVF. Kota Factory highlights the life of students going through the journey of preparing for IIT in Kota. Kota Factory stands out solely on the fact that it is India's first black and white web series which I believe adds to it's brilliant cinematography. It is a drama series which balances the scale of drama and does not let it become too dramatic or emotional. The dialogues and acting are the strengths of the series. The friendship between the three protagonists which forms the backbone of the story will make you remember your school days. TVF has been bringing out great original content and Kota Factory is just another feather in their cap.

The performance of everyone in this web series is amazing. The screenplay is awesome and the script writers did an amazing job. The struggle of studies and other pressure while preparing for IIT shown in the series is amazing. The little love story made the series more interesting. The series depicts the bond of friendship in a very great manner. The character of Jeetu bhaiya just wins my heart, because everyone meets one such kind of mentor during the preparation. I personally liked the character of Meena very much. This series is Love.

I love this series and felt a lot of nostalgia while watching as i also did two year hardcore preparation for iit though i couldn't make it to one lol, but the series was an amazing one and a must watch for an iit aspirant especially all students who did their preparation in kota. The title is so apt Kota factory as it suggests the great number of coaching institutes and students who go there every year and is no less than a factory producing products. Every coaching has its star teacher like jeetu sir in this series who is famous for motivation and entertaining dialogues such as "Kabhi kabhi cheating chalti hai bas aadat nahi padni chahiye" that was very entertaining to watch. This dialogue gained good popularity and there were viral memes based on this dialogue It also has some hilarious scenes like the scene when their new punjabi teacher teaches them in a funny way. The hatred towards chemistry by many students is aptly shown in this and hats off to that long dialogue by vaibhav, all chemistry haters just loved it.

a great entertainment with a lot of nostalgic feeling for those who have stayed in kota for their iit preparation. A great piece of emotion as well as satire. Even who haven't been to kota can feel all the emotions at once with this web series.this series has made the expectations a lot high for those who are further planning to go and study in kota. Best part was jeetu sir and the students bonding. The way the students can share every detail of their life with teacher and he has actually become a life coach to them.

Watch it to rewatch and appreciate!
Love the usage of Black and White filter as a major part of the show. It signifies the colors JEE Aspirants see in their 2 year journey wherein they seek anything but 2 answers to any question outside their question bank. The show doesn't encounter a lot of big issues that the students face however, the ones they do are depicted beautifully. The first 3 episodes are more than enough to get anyone hooked to this web series as it manages to deal with the three biggest issues students face. Just when you think it goes off track with the 4th episode, they swing back with the 5th episode and that's what is lovely about this web series. It stays relevant till the very end. It does justice to the viewers it attracts out of word of mouth or maybe just simple nostalgia. This web series does justice to the hard working students who go through this entire process by having the world know where things were different between these innocent but dedicated kids and themselves irrespective of what field they themselves are involved in!

Good
"Kota...In the area of education this city has created an identity for itself nationally as well as internationally. And right from the start, Maheshwari classes has been carrying the banner of success on this path to victory."

These lines introduce the coaching centre in TVF's latest web series 'Kota Factory' in association with Unacademy before the camera zooms out of the TV screen and immediately we are introduced to a monochromatic life of the students studying in Maheshwari Classes. This tone acts as the external resonance of the student's internal haze. The viewers immediately get connected to the psyche of all the IIT-JEE aspirants and their inner turmoil.

Vaibhav(played by Mayur More) migrates from Itarsi to Kota to prepare for India's toughest college entrance exam. Unable to get into the desired Maheshwari Coaching Classes, he gets admitted into Prodigy-the 2nd best. Being a late entrant, 'studying' isn't the only hurdle he faces. However we are introduced to some beautiful characters who helps him get accustomed with the horrors of mess-food, insomnia and constipation.

The phenomenal writing of the series is helmed by writers Himanshu Chouhan, Saurabh Khanna, Abhishek Yadav and Sandeep Jain as they flawlessly pen down earthy and organic characters. Be it Vaibhav or his economically weak but extremely trustworthy friend Meena(played wonderfully by Ranjan Rai) or the black sheep of the family but extremely amusing Uday(played by Alam Khan), both of them stands beside Vaibhav through thick and thin. Be it their mutual loathing of the mess-food or helping Vaibhav with his question paper solving , the trio is a force to reckon. Apart from the protagonists, there are several supporting characters who makes us root for them equally. Be it Uday's straightforward girlfriend Shivangi(played by Ahsaas Channa) or the minimalist Varthika(played by Revathi Pillai) or the fickle-minded Meenal(played by Urvi Singh), all of them makes us relate to them through their stunning performance. However, the character of Jitendra Kumar, affectionately addressed as 'Jeetu Bhaiyya' steals the show. He is that approachable teacher who always help the students of Prodigy take decisions. With a plethora of earthy and grounded characters, Kota Factory portrays reality as it is instead of overdramatising anything.
The direction of Raghav Subbu is gratuitously combined with Jerin Paul's cinematography with ample amount of bird's eye view to show how the plenty of students are walking, as if they are rats running in the same race. The camera emotes polychromatically instead of a restricted colour tone. Gourav Gopal Jha'a editing, blended by Simran Hora and Karthik Rao's eargasmic music makes the show eventful.
All in all, creator Saurabh Khanna asks the viewer to blend in(without a 21 days time period) the journey into the lives of several IIT aspirants and celebrate friendship, love, dreams and most importantly- hope.
