Permanent Roommates (2014)

Permanent Roommates tells the story of Tanya (Nidhi Singh) and Mikesh (Sumeet Vyas) who have been in a long-distance relationship for three years. When the show begins, Mikesh has just moved back to India from the United States of America to propose to Tanya. He is on his knees with a ring in his hand, and she is not too sure about any of this.
Mikesh is a simple guy who says things as they are and believes that he can make things work Tanya. She believes that the Skype versions of the two of them are far too different from real life. They are adorable in their colloquial awkwardness and confusions — Mikesh is not willing to let go, and Tanya is unable to. In her words, while this isn’t a “Yes”, it isn't a “no” either. The two move in together to figure out if they’d still be as wonderful in proximity as they have been a long-distance relationship.

Yet another amazing story by TVF which casts Sumit Vyas. The India audience generally gets tired of watching the sappy romance and mainly tune into Hollywood rom-coms but TVF's Permanent Roommates changed their perspective. A rom-com which starts with a long-distance relationship to a sudden liv-in situation, where Mikesh (Sumit Vyas) is crazy in love and wants to just marry his long distant girlfriend, Tanya (Nidhi Singh) thinks it's too soon especially for people who meet for the first time in 3 years after a long-distant relationship. With Mikesh's naivity and Tanya's negativeness towards their relationship, which she thinks seems to be failing, this couple is literally the recipe of disaster. How this couple made it till the end is still a surprise to me, but they did. Overcoming numerous hardships and change of emotions, this love story wins over your heart with the perfect amount of comedy and romance in it.

The series showcase not just one of the most adorkable characters ever written (Mikesh played by Sumeet Vyas), but also presents a refreshing tale of new age romance. 'Permanent Roommates' is the story of Mikesh and Tanya (Nidhi Singh) who successfully managed to carry a 3 year long distance relationship, but as Mikesh pops the question, Tanya can't bring herself to the same page.

The opening scene alone dives right into the character building and so much about Mikesh and Tanya's relationship dynamic becomes apparent from a phone call. This feat is wonder of ingenious writing, brilliant direction and stunning performances. First season deals with the Tankesh's journey of self discovery and compatibility. Second season is an extension to the first and has a lot more twists and revelations than the last season.

While I would have settled for a less snarky female protagonist, I am glad the writers still managed to make her just as lovable as Mikesh.

TVF has a track record of delivering high-quality content, and permanent roomates is one of the shows that helps TVf build that repute. This show manages to uphold its charm year after year and is a gold standard for all future romantic comedies.

The story begins with Mikesh, Tanya’s long-distance boyfriend visiting from the US to give her a surprise. Although it is more of a shock than a surprise for Tanya as Mikesh proposes marriage to her. Tanya clearly freaks out and tries to do what she can to postpone the engagement. After a turn of events, they decide to move in together as ‘permanent roommates’. Throughout their rocky yet adorable journey as roommates, Tanya and Mikesh both have doubts about the marriage and, seem to never be on the same page.
The characters grow with each episode and we become emotionally attached to them throughout the season. The actors create beautiful little moments onscreen. Sumeet Vyas does an excellent job of portraying the impossibly innocent Mikesh. Characters like Purshottam and Leo bring life to the story.
TVF’s Permanent Roommates is an offbeat love story with bizarre yet lovable characters and is definitely a must-watch.
Watch Permanent Roommates because it’s both charming and engaging, without tyring too hard, and that’s a rare combination these days.

It's brilliantly portrayed how Life can be so simple yet never ceases to fascinate us with it's charm. It teaches us that staying positive is what that makes our journey interesting and the comedy is just on spot. This web series personally helped me regain my trust on love. It's so cute, funny and romantic at the same time. Several factors make this show a must watch, like the chemistry between the lead duo, Supporting cast, comic timimgs etc. The background score of season 2 is awesome. There are so many moments to which people can relate to, if you are a first timer on love series, just go for it on my word, you will not regret this. This series is so genuinely beautiful, I can bet you, will love it. Sumeet vyas, Nidhi Singh just nailed it. One will start with a smile and end with it too. It’s everything if you want to see a light hearted Indian series. Mikesh and Tanya’s unsorted love story will sometimes make you #laugh, sometimes #smile, sometimes #emotional and sometimes #happy too. The other characters are super #humorous and will make you laugh till your stomach actually hurts.

loved this series to bits. Sumit has again done an amazing job in his character. The story mainly revolves around two couples who are engaged with each other in long distance relationship and then come to stay together. The series revolves around their journey and comedic circle as living together.

Permanent Roommates is a take on relationships. As much as it delves into how long distance relationships can sometimes change equations between two people, it also speaks about giving a relationship another chance.
The web-series revolves around a couple who are doing exactly this, that is, giving their relationship another chance before jumping into something as big as marriage. More so, on the part of the girl than the boy. Through the course of the web-series, one sees them understanding each other more than they have in the number of years that they were with each other.
The web-series makes for a perfect watch with a loved one.

The show is one of the proof for the high credibility of TVF and the reason where it stands today. Story begins when Mikesh (Summet Vyas) comes back to India to propose his 3-year old long distance relationship girlfriend Tanya (Nidhi Vyas). The plot does seem a little dull and cliched in the beginning but the rythm of progress is divine. The strength of the show lies on the shoulder of leads and the chemistry they share on-screen. Conversation and events happening are so subtle and simple that you would give one corner of your heart to both characters. Characters like Puroshotam ji and LLEo gives you bowel full of crackles. It purely depicts relationship of independent youth. i would definitely save it in my watch later list.

It's quite rare to come across a series with a very simple plot, a low-profile get-up but still good enough to catch your attention. Permanent Roommates is one such series. How difficult saying no becomes in relationships, the adjustments you have to make and how you sometimes have to stop being yourself is what we learn through the story of Mikesh and Tanya.
Permanent Roommates will not only make you laugh but it will also reveal the complications and the sacrifices made by two people before getting married. Perfect timing of comedy and a beautiful message to all those couples struggling out there.

The show starts off well, with Mikesh who comes back to India and proposes to his long distance girlfriend Tanya for marriage. This begins their emotional journey that even threatens their relationship at one point in the show.
This show does well in all areas of creativity and execution and one can't help but fall in love with the lead actors, and relate to their emotional journey.

story is just heart touching story.

Yet another love story with the same old problems of family, wedding, babies, moving in and handling it all. This webseries has a been there, done that feel. But you know what, I will still watch it if a few more episodes are added there. The simple reason being it says the same story without making it at all boring. The twists and turns coming into the couple's life might not be too relatable but they are extremely fun to watch.

The best part about the show is Mikesh, or our very loving Micky bhaia, as referred to by his loyal broker/driver/companion Tiwari. Both these characters add to the funny element of the show. Mikesh is an extremely loving boyfriend, a bit stupid, a lot innocent and way way too adorable. Just like any other boyfriend, he is extremely polite to his girlfriend's family and is always making sure to have a good connection with them and he is a winner at it from the go.

Tanya is a regular girl who is just not sure about her extra caring boyfriend and the early marriage talks in the family and weighs in her options. She is just like one of is who is slightly lost sometimes.

Overall, it's one hell of a watch and one thing that this show never fails to do is keep it's viewers on their toes.
