Uncut Gems (2019)

This was not what i expected it to be. It was way better than i expected, it has a really well made script, and the execution of the script is just brilliant. The acting in this is great, Adam Sandler is able to make you mad at him, and also feel for him. Overall this is just a really really good movie.

Uncut Gems a thriller, stars Adam Sandler as the protoganist who's known for his comic roles in other movies.

Howard Ratner the charecter who the story pivots around owns a tiny jewelery shop in New York. The story slowly reveals that Howard is as an obsessive gambler, who's ready to get money into his hands as soon as he's ready to let it slip away. With the problems he has with his wife Dinah and his children who he hardly pays attention. He enjoys spending time with his other mistresses slash co worker who he specially has a flat rented out for. Slowly his gambling side effects start seeping into his personal life with his brother in law constantly following him to pay off his debts .

Adam Sandler's acting was in one word Brilliant. It's shocking to see him acting in a role that's different from his other films and adapting to it so well. The visuals are exceptional. It doesn't glorify gambling, instead portrays the harsh reality of it. With its dark comedy this movie is a must watch.
