Howard Ratner the charecter who the story pivots around owns a tiny jewelery shop in New York. The story slowly reveals that Howard is as an obsessive gambler, who's ready to get money into his hands as soon as he's ready to let it slip away. With the problems he has with his wife Dinah and his children who he hardly pays attention. He enjoys spending time with his other mistresses slash co worker who he specially has a flat rented out for. Slowly his gambling side effects start seeping into his personal life with his brother in law constantly following him to pay off his debts ... |
