The Martian (2015)

Spectacular
The Martian is a movie based on the self titled novel about an astronaut(Matt Damon) who gets stranded on the planet Mars, when he was incorrectly presumed dead and what follows is a fight for survival in a planet where anything can go wrong.
This is by far maybe the best movie based on space and Ridley Scott, who had quite a dry spell with some of his last movies, proves once again that he is the best when it comes to space.
The movie has a huge cast led by Matt Damon, who was perfect as the lead. He was funny, likeable and optimistic. It was also great to see him act so good after a really long time. The supporting cast in the movie is also amazing. Everyone was great in the movie and not a single time it felt like a character was given less screen timing, considering it was such a big cast of talented actors. The one who stands out though was definitely Chiwetel Ejiofor, who just nails his role.
What I liked most about the movie was that it was funny. It wasn't gloomy, sad or depressing but it actually had a lot of humor. It had a positive message and it had the ability to make the audience feel good. And the visual effects in the movie were outstanding. This definitely by far was the best 3D experience I have ever had.
In the end I would say The Martian is spectacular. It has a great actor in a great role, superb directing, a great story and mindblowing visual effects. By far, this is my most favourite movie of 2015. It is definitely worth a watch.

Best human survival in space i ever saw 😍😍
The movie has some great visuals, the story is great and i often think something like this can be our future which is not too dark and depressing like shown in other tech-noir cyberpunk movies

I read The Martian, and while I was reading it learned that Mark Watney would be played by Matt Damon in the movie. I cannot imagine a more perfect actor to play Mark Watney, with his can do smart ass attitude. The film doesn't have everything that was in the book, but it does have almost everything. Like the Lord of the Rings, I'm not sure when I've been so happy about an adaptation of a book. And the Elrond Council bit with Sean frickin' BEAN in the room. Priceless. Absolutely amazing moment.

I thought the casting was particularly good all around. My only quibble is with Chiwetel as Vincent Kapoor. I adore Chiwetel, I really do. But for the love of all that is holy, there are about a million excellent Indian actors who should have had that part. He was fantastic in the role, but please, "I have a Hindu father and a Baptist mother."

Fantastic to see a movie this good set in space -- with no aliens or villains. It's like Apollo 13. Welcome back Ridley Scott.

Science the shit out this
Bringing optimism, nerd-itude and a touch of crazy to his character's solo ordeal -- at one point, scraggly Watney calls himself a "space pirate" -- Damon is the key to the movie's exuberance.

Lakhan Arya
Intersteller was running in different dimension, would surely be high. Yes, we can place it with the gravity. Overall it's a survival story of Martian.

Interstellar was taking sci-fi to 5th dimension. Martian is more practical sci-fi within 3 dimensions. Gravity was just a visually appealing space documentary.
