Nearly perfect Bollywood Rom Com. I just love how the second half mirrors the first -- having the opposite character say nearly the same lines spoken to them in the first half. Watched many years ago, and really enjoyed watching it again -- especially since I now get the joke when Kareena's character says to the sullen morose Shahid, "Are you a Bachchan fan? An Angry Young Man?"

The music is quite good, too, especially my favorite Tum Se Hi.

The movie is about a Punjabi girl and a Big Tycoons son, who end up meeting each other in train. The story is really witty, imaginative, funky and you will love the acting of bothe the stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Kareena is bubly, full of life, feisty and courageous girl. On the other hand Shahid is depressed and seeing bad days in his life. They both meet, spend time together,Aditya and Geet decide to part ways where Aditya goes back to his business and is now becoming very successful. But life has it's own ways, after some time they both meet each other and Aditya is shocked to see Geet as a depressed and quiet schoolteacher. Then a new story begin altogether and they now get married with twin daughters. Great oneliners like "Jab koi pyar me hota ha to kuch sahi galat nahi hota" and " Kya me sahi me ghum rahi hu, Ratlam ki galiyo me" and of course " Me apni Favorite hu" are some ogf the awesome dialogs from the movie.

DDLJ of the 2000s, well not really
Imtiaz ali's breakout hit was a favourite among the teenagers when it released, looking back it now while one can imagine why it was such a huge hit. It is a well made movie on the surface targetted at the youth but it just doesn't have the same charm as that of DDLJ plus Shahid is no SRK nor Kareena is anywhere near the impeccable Kajol

DDLJ Recreated
The movie serves the same old wine of romantic movies in a stylish and new packaging. And i must say Imtiaz Ali has been successful in doing that. The movie keeps reminding me of D.D.L.J the train the journey although a bit more adventurous here and finally an epic ending. The actors especially shahid has outperformed himself and will really be a heartthrob of girls after this movie. Kareena has also done justice to her role and looks fresh.

Missing DDLJ? Here's something special for you.
One can easily state that this is probably the last movie of "Romantic-comedy" genre era which was started in the mid 90s with THE Shahrukh Khan movies. This movie directed by Imtiaz Ali is a real entertainer. The story moves around a Mumbai boy(Shahid Kapoor) with a rich background who has tasted failures recently. He gives up all his ambitions and leaves for a no-destination journey where he meets a flamboyant, talkative, humourous and a street smart girl named Geet(Kareena Kapoor). Their frenemiship starts in a Delhi bound train in which she is travelling to Bhatinda at her native place. Shahid Kapoor delivers one his career best performances in the movie. His expressions are just flawless. The dialogues are very well written and the timing is just perfect. The story moves at a normal pace and keeps the viewer always excited about what is to come. Kareena Kapoor proves her versatility in the movie with another mind blowing performance which made her won the national prize. The role of Tarun Arora (Anshuman) is a comic one. He has been portrayed as a dumb ass who always screws up things and makes the plot interesting. The movie proceeds further as a love triangle between Aditya(Shahid Kapoor), Geet and Anshuman where Aditya madly falls in love with Geet their frenemeship which starts in the train. Aditya helps her reach home safely. After few days, Geet and Aditya run away from her house where Geet goes to Shimla to meet her lover Anshuman and Aditya returns back to Mumbai as a childish, much stronger and a fun loving person. He takes the business on his storm and takes the company to new heights. The climax is much of a bollywood type and brings a smile on the viewer's face. The movie is full of punches and humourous jokes which ensures that one enjoys the movie to the fullest. The movie comprises of good and sorrow moments which makes the movie a bit more balanced. Music is just adorable as one would expect from Pritam and co. Cameos from Dara Singh adds to the star quotient. All one can say is that it it's a must watch movie with ever loving on-screen pair of Shahid and Kareena sharing some sizzling chemistry with each other. Nobody can regret watching this movie,
