Death Note (2006)

Death Note, if not the best, then atleast, it is the most famous and popular anime in the world. Even non anime watchers have seen it and praise it to their heart's content. There are several reasons, and the most important one is the rivalry between the lead characters Kira and L. Both of them are shown, possessing the brains of Einstein and Newton combined. It takes just 2 episodes, and you will finish the series in less then 24 hours.

Although animes have a mastery in soundtracks, but background scores in death note far exceeds your average anime, one of the best, I have ever heard. Animation style is good, considering it was made during 2005-06.

SPOILER:
Only flaw is that the plot loses its grip, halfway through the anime, when a certain character dies. To find out who??....you have to watch it.

By far one of the most gripping anime that I have ever set my eyes on. This anime has an amazing plot with some equally well written characters. The tug of war between Light Yagami and L drives this anime and make the storyline truly unpredictable. No wonder this anime has such a huge fanclub.

Death Note is one anime that has managed to surpass the 'anime' tag. Anybody into movies has heard it's name and whether they are an 'otaku' or not, they have been recommended to watch this movie atleast by one person.
That is how powerful the franchise is. I won't pretend it is flawless - the plot lags in the middle to be revived by a spectacular plot twist, but once a particular person dies, the plot drowns out until the ending, which could have been predicted form two episodes previously.
But Death Note holds a certain charm that allows it this place despite there being better anime movies and series made every year.
1) Ryu, the Shinigami, is in both measures terrifying and adorable due to his love for apples.
2) The idea of the note itself is something perhaps everyone would want to possess.
3) The questions. The series questions the line between good and bad. Is what Light does so wrong? Is L truly right in pushing him tot he limits? Everybody is grey and not even Misa is spared the tinge.
4) Misa Amane!!
5) Soundtrack, especially the piano overtures that accompany the last scene.
6) Three episodes is all it takes to make one leave their work and glue themselves to the series.
If you've been putting off watching it because it is an animated movie, I implore oyu to re-evaluate and watch it ASAP.

The best anime .Each and every episode ends on a thrilling note.Completely flawless . Even sherlock holmes would enjoy watching it.The plot is about a boy who finds this book(Death note )in which who's name is written will be sentenced to death (conditions apply!!!haha).So the boys goes on committing murder (only the bad disgraced people who commit crime) and then a detective starts tracing him.So does the boy gets caught??How a person dies if his name written in a book?How a detective deals with something supernatural and ghostly??Watch the series will not disappoint you. When it comes to anime only the story matters .The rest aspects are additional .(total no of episodes =37)

it tells a story of a battle of wits. blurring the lines between good and evil it constantly proves the power of the mind. watch this if you're into engaging your whole attention.

Death Note is undoubtedly one of the best thriller anime shows I've seen. The suspense builds up quite nicely and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Recommended to all thriller and anime fans out there!

This series expands the horizons of anime. It is a thrilling and engaging series which takes new turns after every episode. It stands apart from the usual action anime and engages viewers of all age groups!
