Gravity (2013)

This movie is one of its kind. Awesome visual experience. Alfonso Cuarón took care of every minute thing. The movie remained committed to what it intended to show, no heroic miracles and unnecessary scenes. The explosions and collisions are most beautifully shown. It is like you too are floating with those astronauts in the unending space full of darkness. I think the message of the movie is "Space is dangerous. Don't look for space when you have mother earth. Try to save it instead of leaving it."

A time when every other movie is made in 3-D just so to catch up with the trend without any need we have something special.I never thought i would see a movie utilizing 3-D and CGI better than Life Of Pi but then Alfonso Cuarón had something else in mind.Straightforward plot,Excellent music and good acting keeps you engaged till the very end.Clooney is superb in his short stint. A big salute to the director for his imagination and entire team for creating a visual masterpiece.Watch it and experience it.

Not just a movie! An experience.
The story begins in Space! It is based on the fictitious space shuttle mission, and the story begins with a catastrophe. While the astronauts aboard on THE EXPLORER are out for a spacewalk, orbiting debris from a defunct satellite cross their path and destroy the shuttle and the crew, save for medical engineer Dr. Ryan Stone(Sandra Bullock) and Lieutenant Matt Kowalski(George Clooney) the team-leader. Then unfolds the story of their escape from forthcoming dangers, with disconnected signals and low oxygen for basic survival in space. In course of moving to the ISS,Kowalski unties himself from Stone in order to save her,and floats into oblivion. The lone struggle of Stone to free herself and vacillating between paranoia, suicidal attempts and desire for survival makes it emotionally engaging.
The 3D technology has been done justice as this film was made. Tantalizing visuals, the unimaginable reach of technology, the awe-inspiring yet accurate physical concepts of space, astronomy make this an exceptional movie. The use of sound and light is also intriguing when it is remarkably used for distinguishing the atmosphere in space, and the atmosphere within the shuttle. In its apparent documentary-like narration several underlying themes of existentialism,religion,evolution-as pointed out by critics, take this film to a higher level altogether. Sandra Bullock surpasses her previous works in this remarkable movie.
