This story begins with the pathetic daring do and fall of a father (Christopher Walken) and the equally disturbing ways of a cheating mother. Clearly, Leo DiCarprio's young Frank Abignale Jr, was both as innocent as he was desperate, as cunning as he was naively idealistic. This fascinating watch wonderfully captures the late 1960's and your imagination. From New Rochelle, NY to a worldwide impostor on the run, we see Frank on an amazing journey all the while being chased by FBI paper hanger agent Carl Hanratty, who is marvelously enlivened by a frustrated but determined Tom Hanks.
This movie is accurate representation of how a young lad becomes involved in forgery and con, still makes his way in life. Excellent job done by Leonardo DiCaprio, Inspiring.
This is a true story about a boy named,Frank W. Abagnale who passed millions of dollars in bogus checks, dazzled women with his wealth and accomplishments, all before turning 21. But, a lot of the time he was a sad and lonely teenager. His only honest relationships in his life were with his father and with the FBI agent who was chasing him.
Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can is a film based on the real-life incident of teenage con,Frank Abagnale. Leonardo Di Caprio, ina a totally convincing manner, pulls off the role of Frank, the fraudster. As a teenager,Frank has seen his parents get divorced and his mother continue an affair behind his father's back. Frank had also seen his father being crushed under the burden of expenses and tax returns. Frank thus nurtured the neurotic obsession for gaining money by deceitful means and turned into a fraudster after fleeing from home post his parents divorce. He posed as a Pilot, a doctor and lawyer and forged cheks to make illegal cash. Carl Hanratty(Tom Hanks) is the cat in this cat and mouse chasing game, who is an FBI bank fraud agent. Despite lacking the support of the higher authority,Carl continues his job until he tracks Frank down. But in this game of chase, the cat brings a twist in the tale. Di Caprio and Tom Hanks are brilliant in their respective roles and the movie bears the stamp of being a Spielberg movie in shots, dialogue and climax sequences. Just that the movie is a bit too long which makes the pace stagger.
One can only imagine what terrific things the mind of a boy can do who can pretend to be faculty on his first day of school as new student and arrange PTA meeting and excursions...what makes it more spl is that its based on real life event....
