Blood Diamond (2006)

Watching this movie would definitely send a chill down you spine! It bursts our bubbles and than reality would stare at your face. A story that has the capacity to be a life changing experience. The entire team must be congratulated for bringing a movie that has made believe again that movies can revolutionize our capacity to thinking.Our so called civilized society must again be looked at for these realities are mostly forgotten!
However the typical Hollywood tactics enter where the protagonist would sacrifice for the greater good, the victim finds sanctuary in America! And of course the heroine manages showcase the heroic acts of the male protagonist! And show everyone how brave, and righteous AMERICA is!! I would say all of this is a little too tacky!
However these elements should not discourage you from watching the movie, I would say go-ahead and give it a try!

The movie highlights important issues about the war and diamonds extracted from conflict zones in Africa.
Like every film it may have some flaws, but for me it was a gripping, deeply moving film.
As for the acting Djimon Hounsou was outstanding, he truly deserved the Oscar nomination.
I don't know if DiCaprio's accent was accurate (I have no knowledge of how an African accent is supposed to sound), but his performance was solid, just like the rest of the cast.
It's definitely worth watching.
