A good reboot.
I have been a fan of Star Trek for a long, long time and the 13th installment in the franchise does not dissappoint. It is the thrird film to the erstwhile Star Trek and Into Darkness movies, and has one of the bet ensemble casts seen in a movoe of such strature.

Although, one has to agree that the plot is not spot on, but the movie takes every hardcore Trekkie through an emotional roller-coaster ride, it plays like an episode of the original series. I can assure you that it is a bit of a drag for people with lowe attention spans.

I certainly enjoyed the comical instances between Spock and McCoy, and Uhura has certainly galmmed up the movie, it is Captain Kirk, played by Chris Pine who takes everyone's breath away.

Those are a lot of plot points to juggle. Luckily, Lin doesn't drop too many balls, and the actors don't just go through the motions.

MMR buzzed about Star Trek Beyond
Star Trek opened with $59 m, which is good considering the advertising was way lower than it was for its past 2 films. The Secret Life of Pets is also going strong in its 3rd weekend, even Finding Dory, which has now become the highest grossing film domestically to not reach a billion worldwide, did good business considering its age at the theaters. Finding Dory is at 9th rank domestically all time while worldwide it is at 62nd. But the surprise was Ice Age Collision Course, which bombed like anything. It really has been long since a franchisee as good as Ice Age has only made $21 m even after being an animation film, in its opening weekend. ‪#‎surajsFilmPulp‬

Treat for fan otherwise a good casual watch
It will be a treat for a fan and might sound slightly random for a newcomer. I lie between these two. A couple of plot sequence doesn't sound convincing to me. I give it a leap of faith and it didn't disappoint. It was emotionally strong, in sync with Star Trek series. The fight sequence with soundtrack - sabotage was cool.

MMR buzzed about Star Trek Beyond
3 films released today with wide openings, Star Trek Beyond, Ice Age Collision Course and Lights Out. Star Trek is the first film of the reboot directed by the man himself, JJ Abrams, and accordingly its performing well with the critics as well. It is at 85% RT and 71% MC. Lights Out, a horror by the producer James Wan (director of Conjuring), is not bad, it is at 78% RT while Ice Age, the series which was never known for its story or intersting characters has failed here as well, it is at lowly 13% RT score and 33% MC. #surajsFilmPulp
