Birdman (2014)

Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance is quite a piece of work. The movie's about an actor, Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton), who was previously famous for starring in a superhero franchise called "Birdman" and later lost his fame. It focuses on how he tries to earn back his fame by starring in a play directed by him all the while fighting his dual personality of the Birdman, the character, who keeps trying to dampen his spirits.

The movie has major plus points starting from the mind-blowing background score, almost entirely of solo jazz drum scores by Antonio Sanchez. The excellent work by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki almost makes it seem as if the entire movie was taken in a singe shot - a unique approach taken by the director, Alejandro Inarritu. The perfomances of the main cast, Keeaton, Stone, and Norton were quite amazing and garnered critical acclaim. Although the movie has a lot of amazing elements, the fundamental story was a bit peculiar and the ending was pretty vague. It could be argued that that was what the director was going for, but it was a little too abrupt to digest.

This movie's a must watch 'cause of three reasons : Great music, Great cinematography, even greater performances.
