Director Damien Chazelle’s masterpiece is about Andrew, a talented young drummer, who wants to be the best in the world. He gets enrolled into the prestigious Schaffer Conservatory. Fletcher, the best music instructor of the academy, also known for his horrifying teaching methods, notices Andrew, and invites him to play in his band. This drama takes you through barks, abuses, tears, accidents and blood, yet fills you with inspiration in the end. This movie showcase above average acting skills from Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons. Now that's quite my tempo!

Recently i have not been writing stuff about movies ,
because there was nothing worth writing for until i saw this exhilarating movie ,called whiplash .
Its a flawless piece of cinema which takes us through the life of a grad student & his menacing , bullying teacher . the cinema is fueled by some riveting performance ,sharp editing and some groovy jazz music .
ACTORS Miles Teller & J. K. Simmons were absolutely in the skin of their characters, its an opera when these guys come together on screen.
the movie never " tip toes ' but goes into showing us the pain & suffering of a human being when he is pushed to his limits. blood ,sweat , broken drum kits, bleeding hands , and most of all passion for getting the right beat .
whiplash does it all ,& with style . its a great watch and i guarantee the drum beats will resonate inside you when you have finished watching it .
OSCAR or NO OSCAR it will surely win your hearts .

This movie is thrilling, intense, emotional, this movie is just gold how much this movie can make you feel from happiness, to sadness, to feeling tense, this just exceed all expectations, the acting in this is phenomenal, J.K Simmons in this oh my god the dude is terrifying, and Miles Teller is ist great he is able to show so much emotion and feeling its just great. from acting, to camera movements, to music this movie is just a treat, its amazing!

I think Whiplash is a pretty good movie, I think I got turned off from it because of my repulse for Fletcher, and how I despised him from the beginning. The music is really good, but I focused more on the story itself. My interpretation of the film is how far someone would go to become great. Andrew gave up alot to try to become one of the greatest players, and but I am not sure what the end is supposed to mean. I would think that Fletcher is done with Andrew because he messes him up on purpose, and probably wants to see him fail, OR he pushes him more since that is his ideology. This can lead to either Andrew proving him wrong, showing that he does not need Fletcher, or what I think it is, proving Fletcher right that he is like Charlie Parker and will be sucked and manipulated by Fletcher. It never looked like Andrew disliked Fletcher, even with all the abuse, so he would of course stay with him. In terms of Flecther, I believe that while he wants to make one of the "greats", he wants power and status, and will make sure people fear him. He is not as caring as he makes himself to be, especially when one of his students kills himself and he tries to hide it. I feel like I should rate this movie higher, but for some reason, I cannot, maybe because, with all this analysis, I did not enjoy it as much, and wasn't as immersed into the movie as I usually am.

Damien Chazelle's one of the very best. According to me, Whiplash is a motion picture which sets an example in Hollywood and all other film industries. The incredible combination of Chazelle's screenplay and Simmon's acting produced one of the very impeccably connected films in this decade. As the audience is made to believe that this is a usual 'teacher to student relationship' movie where the instructor is primarily and apparently abusive, aggressive to the student but is later revealed to be one of the noblest intentions with some heart rendering affectionate scenes between the two. As the conclusion in the picture, they were absolutely received as the movie progresses with bewildering twists. The director successfully get on to manipulate the elements of life which include an aspiring student's ambitions to address his needs and wants practically to churn out his approaches to his career, education and also love. Chazelle's masterpiece is a must watch and is such a film which should inspire more people to be made of this genre. I give this film a bang on 5 on 5.

A sight for sore eyes kind of a movie. Totally in love with the movies, WHIPLASH!

One of the best musicals ever. It is a story that will make you realize what perfection is, what art is and what dedication is. Wanting to be best does not always mean that you will get the best. People will be against you, try to pull you down and make you feel worthless. Whiplash is a movie about all of this and how Andrew, an exceptional drummer faces all these adverse situations only to recover from them.

Just took my two teen-aged boys to see Whiplash. Just as amazing the second time (saw the premiere at Sundance). My boys, who are both in band, thought the film was absolutely fantastic. "It's just everything," said my younger one. Bumping up to a full five stars. The older one said, "What am I supposed to take away from it?" Not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but there's a lot to talk about on your way home.

I am so hoping J. K. Simmons gets the supporting actor Oscar for this film. He deserves it.

Go and see Whiplash. It's as simple as that. Whiplash is incredible. I really can't believe how good Whiplash is. I can't stop telling people about Whiplash.
