Toy Story 2 (1999)

updated
Woody and Buzz Lightyear are now the co-leaders of Andy's toys. Andy plans to take Woody to cowboy camp, but accidentally rips Woody's arm during playtime and chooses to leave him behind on the shelf. After a nightmare about Andy throwing him away, Woody discovers Wheezy, a toy penguin who has been left on the shelf and forgotten because of a broken squeaker. When Andy's mother takes Wheezy down to a yard sale, Woody successfully returns him to Andy's room before he can be sold. In the process, however, Woody is stolen. Buzz fails to rescue Woody, but is able to deduce who took him: Al McWhiggin, owner of the toy store Al's Toy Barn.

Toy Story 2 is one of those films where everything fits together nicely. The music, the humor, the animation, the voices, etc. are all great. Hollywood isn't very good at sequels, but Toy Story 2 is one of the few that measures up to, and slightly tops, the first one. The story isn't too much like the first, like some sequels are, and yet it still keeps the spirit of the first one. We see our favorite characters from the first one and we see some cool new characters as well. It is a good clean film, unlike many films these days that have too much swearing, violence, and/or sex. Toy Story 2 is suitable and enjoyable for kids, and adults will find it fun too. This is the perfect example that Pixar has never made a bad film. It's well-made and pure fun. What more could you ask for in a movie?

The sequel is much much better than the first movie. An epic joy ride with many more intense action scenes propelled with a great story make this one a must watch,
