The Originals (2013)

The show is connected to the "The vampire diaries" series. It's about the origin of vampires and the first of vampires. The show is about how a powerful family of original vampires deals with the mistakes that they had made in there past. And how will these mistakes change their future? The characters in this show are very powerful, scary.

Probably the only successful spin off in television history in the last decade, originating from The Vampire Diaries, Originals is the story of the Original Vampires and revolves around the lives evil notorious genius -Klaus, well clad in an armani even while killing - Elijiah, The one who never seems important for longer then an episode -Rebakkah, knocked up werewolf Haley and the manchild prodigy - Marcel.It is situated in the supernaturally active town of New Orleans and to add spice to the already hot Vampire- Werewolf genre, The Originals has the witches of the quarter throwing around people with a single wave of their hand. If you can get over Joseph Morgan's charming smile ,Daniel Gilles impeccable style and Charles Davis's charm, the story gets held up after second season and few characters who show promise fade in 1-2 episodes. Julie Plec might have created something different but looks like even she is losing her touch trying to incorporate so many evil twisted Vampires under one roof.

The Originals, is a spin off of the hit drama - The Vampire Diaries. The show tells us about the original vampire family - The Michaelsons. Their track in TVD was discontinued to make was for The Originals and it was a risk that paid off. We get to see Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah in New Orleans which was their home before it was destroyed by their father. The French Quarter of New Orleans is now home to vampires headed by Klaus' protege Marcel, witches and werewolves.
The show unlike TVD focuses more on internal politics, control and ancient rites and customs. This makes for an interesting watch for fans of TVD who got bored of its constant storyline. Although just done with its first season, the show has shown potential. Also the combined fandom of Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gilles has led to quite a following among girls.
