After a fantastic second installment in this trilogy, Nolan yet again comes up with a masterpiece. Yes, the expectations were high after Heath Ledger's perfect depiction of the Joker and in some senses the movie doesn't live up to it's predecessor, but this film has what the others lacked. Depth, emotion, drama and some brilliantly choreographed action scenes. The direction is amazing, as is expected from Nolan. Bale is back to his best after his slump in The Dark Knight and Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon push up the bar too.
Joker's absence is surely missed throughout the movie, but unlike the last movie, which was solely carried forward by Ledger and the other characters just revolving around him, this one has better character development.

Not great. But not bad either. A passable superhero movie. Really glad, that Nolan was smart enough to not attempt another 'The Dark Knight'. Other directors should learn from him. Even he knew that he cannot recreate that magic again.

A classic of Christian Bale . Tom Hardy is a beast and the supporting caste is a treat to watch. The movie is a enthralling conquest of ups and downs of the vigilante.

Before anything, I would like to salute Sir Nolan to have the guts to return to the Batman franchise after TDK. He knew the expectations and tacked them head on, succeeding for the most part.

TDKR has clear signs that it's inspired from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Rises. This is not the Bruce we saw in TDK. He is old, broken, hopeless, recluse who comes out when a danger akin The Joker ? appears in Gotham who would test not only his mental rigidity but also physicality.

Stepping into the shoes of the dearly missed mighty Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy gives his everything and is near-perfect. His commandeering frame, which must've been a pain to attain, compliments his dark voice perfectly. He had greater pressure than Heath had, and satisfied the expectations for most part. The Knights all sequence stands out, thanks to him.
Christian Bale gives his most matured turn of Batman in this last piece of one of the greatest trilogies. His starts off as an old, broken man and segues into the mean Batman perfectly, thanks to the acting chops on this man. Knightfall sequence belongs to him as much as it belongs to Hardy. That's when we realise Bane is a force to be reckoned with, and both the actors nail it to perfection. Michael Caine brings out a new shade of Alfred, and nails it. Morgan Freeman gets a larger role compared to TDK. The new revelations in the franchise are Anne Hathaway and Marilon Cotillard. Both act out their parts perfectly.

Sir Nolan doesn't play around with the screenplay as he usually does, but offers the tragic tale of a city and its hero straightforward. He managed to nail the desired task of superhero movies perfectly i.e. satisfying both comic and non-comic audience. The accomplished the gigantic task of improving the visuals of TDK. Being an eye candy is where TDKR outshines it's predecessor. But the story turns out to be a bit weak, with a lot of plotholes. Nevertheless, the actors and the visuals keep you occupied enough to make it an engaging watch.

So after seeing the The Dark Knight my expectations were pretty high for this movie and most movies would fail miserably but luckily The Dark Knight Rises is not one of most movies. It absolutely lived up to my expectations. What was good about the movie? Pretty much everything. The acting was top notch in this movie everyone does a good job in it. The action was great but the movie is great without action. Tom Hardy as Bane is one of the most terrifying villains I have ever seen. I likes the characters, the story everything. The one gripe that people might have is that it is very dark. But even that is not a real issue. In the end I loved this movie I recommend it to everyone an even though its not as good as The Dark Knight its still an amazing movie.

Unlike The avengers, Batman uses real stunts and real emotion rather than digital effects and flashy lights and green screens. The behind the scenes footage of the movie is mind-blowing, you can really tell they put a lot of hard work into this movie. It also helps that they wait 3-4 years between each movie to make sure they have a good story line.
