Rohon Nag reviewed Sultan
Rocky Balboa For The Indian Masses!
Sultan Movie Review :
It took me a few days to get over the trauma of seeing Great Grand Masti. But Finally managed to catch salman's latest

It is said that critics don’t like salman movies, but keeping the actor apart from the characters he plays, his movies are not bad. The last few were pretty good.

This one is his best one yet. Sultan is the closest we have come to a desi Rocky type movie, complete with training montages, life threatening injuries and love interest, this is a sports movie done right.

From the opening scene of Salman designed for whistles and claps, this movie keeps chugging along till it actually gets good in the second half. The acting is decent all throughout, with Salman taking a bit of effort to stay in character and not behave like his usual self. Could another actor have done a better job ? probably, but this was sallu’s starring vehicle and he did as much justice to the role as he could.

Being a yash raj film, this has quite a few songs which slow the movie down and 2 of them look VERY out of place. The second half gets really interesting, its gritty but it could have gone further.
The music and theme song was decent and if someone hasn’t seen Rocky type movies, this formula will work better on them.
Overall a decent film, not overly melodramatic or cheesy.

Rating 7/10. Sports fans would love this, apart from the obvious Sallu fans.

Sports based movie are welcome. And I agree, critics and netizens are at times too harsh on Salman's movies just because its a Salman movie. Bajrangi and this one were actually good.

Uper Allah, Niche Dharti, Bichme Fans' Sultan
Salman Bhai is back on Eid. Last year, he came with a blockbuster movie Bajarangi Bhaijaan. All Non-Salman fans are saying that the movie worked just because of the perfect story and cute little Munni. Bhai's fans were saying Bhai did an outstanding job. Critics said he did a good job not more than that. Yes, I agree with that. But, in this movie, everyone is saying different!
A wrestler's love story - This is what Sultan offers. Pre-interval portion is all about flashback love story of Sultan & Arfa with some funny moments, lot's of music, wrestling and emotional touch at the pick of the interval. Post interval, there is fight championship (just like we saw in Brothers!) with Sultan training under Delhi based gym trainer, come back of him in the ring, and emotional ending like a king!
Salman did a better job than Bhaijaan. His expressions are so real in the fight scenes. Here Munni is Anushka Sharma. Like Bhai's any previous movies, no heroine got a major part. But, Anushka got, and she performed it really well. Even I can say that she's better than Sultan bhai! Kumud Mishra and Amit Sadh are as good as their roles. Randeep Hooda's guest appearance gets more applause and shouts than Bhai's entry.
Cinema-hall creates shouting & cheering three times. First at Bhai's entry, second at Randeep's entry & at the third time, it's Jag Ghumeya song. Best song from this movie is this. Bhai's that dance step is so classic. Other than that, I like peppy song 440 volts, because of it's unique lyrics by Irshad Kamil, Mika Singh's voice and it's choreography and costumes. Personally, I don't like Baby ko bass pasand hai. Sultan's title track is energetic. Others are okay. Music could have been better.
So, what's the new thing in Sultan? Well, I can say, Salman in drawers is the only one! Hahaha, jokes apart, yes it's a family film. You can watch it at your suitable ticket price. Anushka's best performance and Salman's fans around your seats never let your enjoyment down. If the show is full, than you can enjoy it, otherwise like what happened to me, that show is only 35% occupied, so a few shouts were heard, and therefore my friend felt the movie was too long. Though, it has not a single boring portion, but, than also, I'm requesting all the masses to shout out in the screen so everyone gets energetic.
On the whole, Director Ali Abbas Zafar is playing smart with using Salman, as he wants the promotion! Similarity with YRF's Brothers is still in my mind, so I can't say that this is the best film of this year so far. It's even not better than Bajarangi. So, just a one time watch.

If it's Eid, it must be time for the big Salman Khan movie! There has been so much hype around Sultan, for months and months, and one can"t help but worry that the movie won"t meet the raised expectations. But thankfully, it does! Margaret of Don"t Call It Bollywood and I saw the movie together at the Indian MovieMax theater about 45 minutes from me. It was quite the experience to see it opening night with a big crowd all dressed to the nines for Eid festivities they were going to after the film. For me, Dabanng and Bajrangi Bhaijaan are two of my favorite Salman Khan movies, and some of his best work. Sultan is good. It's very good, but for me, it's not quite at the same level as those two movies. Salman's acting has moments of greatness in Sultan, and Anushka Sharma is simply amazing. DilseBen reviewed Sultan
"Poised to become the Sultan of box office this year!!!"
The film has all the makings of a blockbuster & likely to set records on a regular basis with a credible probability of crossing 300 C. It doesn't boast of a script which offers anything new in terms of the story-line but one can rest assured that we will see Salman in a new avatar. In short, it's a paisa vasool entertainer!!!

#watchable
The second half of the movie is #predictable.
The first half has an #heartWarming start. I felt the first half represents the certain phases of life- #imaginative to #inspiring to #pride.
BUT too much #unrealistic at the end.

1st half - 2*
2nd half -3*

Good direction which is more noticed in the second half and it can be seen by the huge cheer, hooting, clapping from the crowd.
