Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009)

When asked in an interview “Which movie’s failure shattered your heart??” Ranbir Kapur replied “Rocket Singh,I thought it was going to be my Munna bhai” and very rightly so. If the spectacular Shimit Amin-Jaideep Sahni combo(Chak De India Fame) isn’t enough reason for you, watch it for Ranbir Kapur’s best performance till date (and that includes Barfi).The movie evades the conviction of our stereotyped sixpacks-flaunting-dancing-around-the-trees heroes and gives us Harpreet Singh Bedi an idealistic young graduate finding his feet in the money-driven-corporate-world. Its a neat,honest and refreshing movie with noble intentions.

Terribly earnest, almost to the point of lecturing on honest business practices. Ranbir Kapoor, who was so delightful and dynamic in Barfi! Is left to be the straight man to a cast of colorful characters. Could have been a lot more, and also felt too long.
