Hit Means Hit
Pink-'No Means No'
Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's bollywood debut surprises one nd all by getting the tag of the 'Best Film Of The Year' till now....Certainly it's one of the finest acts delivered by Amitabh Bachchan(who is exceptional),Taapsee Pannu(Her best till nw),Angad Bedi and Kirti Kulhari(Deserves a special mention).....Piyush Mishra does a commendable job.....Angad Bedi is spot on with his badass potrayal of Rajveer Singh....He would b rememberd fr ths role.....Amitabh's character build up is a big thumbs up-whatwith showing his mood swinging yet depressing side also....
It isn't preachy bt it straight forwardly questions our society fr their perspectyv about modern women-giving instances tht short skirts indicate bad character,a woman who drinks is a prostitute, etc.
The courtroom scenes r the best(A bit inspired frm 'The Accused')
It s a raw film(undiluted and real) nd u r bound to stay edged to ur seats till the end credits roll down completely(Evn aftr the end credits I bet u wont leave the theatre bcoz it has more to offer....The whole case is shown in the end followed by the beautiful poem by Amitabh Bachchan(Vocals))
Fight if u aren't wrong....nd don't gyv up or say sryy.....women shud b treated equally is what the theme of the film is....There is subtle humour with a bit emotional ending...Direction,technique,dialogues,(Ritesh Shah) are top notch....Will sweep away many awards ths yr....
Note:- 10 National Award winners(Example:- Shoojit,Amitabh,Anupam,Shantanu,Aniruddha, etc) joined hands to make ths film....Gyv it a watch.....More than a one time watch(A 'Baar Baar Dekho' film)
Warning:- U won't b able to find any errors in ths movie....An outrageously brave movie.....Best of 2k16...

Crackling Second half, Weak First Half...
This is a movie about 3 girls, living in delhi who have some sort of encounter with 3 boy and then things spiral out of control. Their neighbor is a lawyer played by mr Bachchan.

As far as story and plot goes, this film is light on both, but somehow it doesn’t suffer much from the lack of a deep plot. The story is simple enough yet shocking enough to pack a punch.
The film itself is quite uneven, though shot decently, the pacing is totally off. The first half of the film is rather slow and dragging and not enough happens to justify so much of screen time.
But the second half is crackling and very satisfying and rather provocative too. It almost feels like two different films in the first and second half.

Performances wise, Mr Bachchan is expectedly, amazing. His deep piercing look, unflinching gaze and baritone are utilized to the full in the second half. He carries this film to the finish line. His character of a mentally unstable and subdued lawyer is well suited to his capabilities and age.
The women in the film are all well-acted and very natural and believable. They are brazen at first but slowly shrink away in fear and can barely mumble in the court room scenes.
On the other side, the guys are shown as patriarchal and primitive despite a London education. Displaying that chauvinism is deep rooted.
The movie’s highlight is courtroom scenes. They are really brilliantly done and worth the price of the tickets. They are mostly realistic, except for a few liberties. The way the false witnesses and neighbors misconstrued the events and their speculation over the character of the girls, is a statement on society and how the old perceive the actions of the young.

Overall this film is a must watch for aficionados of court room dramas. This film also has a strong message for the women and men of the country and how mindsets can’t define a person.
Rating: The second half of the film would get a 10 rating from me, but the first half is too long, dragging and boring for such a high rating. The first half was a 6/10 movie for me.

Final Rating: 3.5/5. Very good, if a bit uneven.

This movie is rather bold in presenting its views on #feminist . Its #intense and #disturbing at the same time. Most of the scenes are shot in a #courtroom . Its very much #inspiring and presents us the real scenario behind the name "Illicit Girls" which is usually hidden by the society. I think Truth has been spoken through this movie. This is not a film that espouses any moral values like good character but rather it is reflection of each and every individual in our Indian Society. We can relate to it in every sense. Each individual under this film has contributed so much into this movie with their characters. Each and every dialogue of Amitabh Bacchan in the courthouse hits you hard and you can totally relate to Tapsee's character.

"Brilliant take on the plight of independent women due to prejudices!!!"
It might not have the glitz & glamour of a big budget movie, but it's hard hitting realistic movies like these that gives us a whole new experience. In all probability, it should have the word of mouth going in its favour & it truly deserves all the accolades coming its way. I just hope that each one of us watch this as it is relevant to our times & atleast make an effort to change if such prejudices are harboured. As the movie says "Her attire, relationships & sexual life shouldnt be used as yardsticks of her morality. She is the master of her own will & if she says NO...it's a clear NO". For me, this movie is a YES...AN EMPHATIC YES...SO DONT MISS IT!!!

You are probably living in ignorance and denial if you are not affected by pink. This powerful movie directed by Anirudh Rai Chaudhary, is a piercing indictment of deep set hatred and prejudices, misogyny and injustices which women across India bears on daily basis. The movie says more than just emphasising on the fact

I am giving this movie 4 starts just because the story highlights a major social issue but personally I did not liked the storyline and the way girls are portrayed as making them selves a victim even though they could easily get out of the whole drama. It looked more like all the situations and reaction were specifically incorporated to make everything worst at the end and then to show how only truth wins at the end despite all the drama

This movie is about 3 girls living in Delhi and facing the hardships of life. How a small incident can spoil their life. This is not a typical feminist movie, but it shows the reality.

must watch
I think this movie gives a clear picture of how strong a woman can be and it is not a typical feminist movie either. Was the title pink as it represents girls? I think its high time we change that stereotypical view. I mean purple isn't bad is it?
