This movie in 3 words - Perfect Family Drama. As expected of Karan Johar, this movie packs an all-rounder entertainment, however slow it might feel to modern watchers. Youth in their 20s have their childhood based in these movies, the songs and the dialogues. Acting may seem a bit over-emotional and unrealistic, but hey, it's Karan Johar. To understand the 90s kids, go give it a watch!

Rewatched on Blu-ray which was a revelation. I felt like I could count every bead and sequin -- and the embroidery!! The wardrobe was stunning on Blu-ray.

Watched this after dropping off my son at college, and I sobbed harder than SRK or Hrithik! The ending always gets me, but it really hit me hard when the mother sees SRK in the mall after 10 years.

Dharma Productions' KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM, written-directed by Karan Johar, is one film that strikes the right balance between form and content.
Assembling a mammoth star cast like this must've been a Herculean task. But justifying each of the characters merits the highest praise. With KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM, Karan Johar proves that KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI was no flash in the pan. With KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM, the young director confirms the fact that he is the brightest in film firmament.
SRK was brilliant! Some people think he overacts etc but to tell you the truth, i really don't. What he does...his crying everything is the way he conveys his emotions to the audience. And i think he does it really well. Kajol was really cute. She was awesome. A brilliant actress, she is. Everyone was good...Amitabh, SRK, Jayabaduri, Kajol etc. Kareena really annoyed me a lot though but i guess her character is probably meant to be like that.
I absolutely enjoyed the comedy. Kajol and SRK...both were fantastic. And don't forget Johnny Lever! Haha.
This is a must for all of you. You have to watch it!
