This film is MORE than capable! its riveting!
Kaabil Movie Review :
I saw Raees yesterday and today Kaabil, I will not compare the two as they are different genre and emotions…
Kaabil is about a blind guy Rohan who find loves and then when due to events beyond his control, his love is lost and he plans revenge.
I had ZERO expectations from Sanjay Gupta, he is not a bad director, but he over did Jazbaa and Zinda was barely ok, but under the tutelage of Rakesh Roshan he has made his best film yet. The credit goes to Senior Roshan for honing Sanjay gupta’s film making and producing a truly moving revenge drama.
Let’s start with the acting, Hrithik has been phoning it in since Bang Bang and his mohenjodaro damaged his reputation and market value, but Kaabil is one of his best till date. He is amazing in the film. This must be his second best role after Koi Mil Gaya, narrowly edging out kaho naa pyaar hai. He is convincing as the blind yet quite capable Rohan.
Yami Gautam has lost some weight and she is very good in her role, she is lovely and charming and it is easy to fall in sync with this adorable blind couple. They sell their romance and the chemistry is there between the leads without being sleazy or lusty. It’s the kind of romance which can only be found in FilmKraft’s productions and it works rather well. Its been a while since the heroine is the eye candy of the film and yet genuine enough that you feel for her.
Fortunately, (mild spoilers till end of para.) Once she passes away, she doesn’t disappear from the movie and comes on screen as Rohan’s imagination and it keep the film’s plot focused and reminds the audience of Rohan’s loss.
Coming to the plot and story, it’s a been there, done that sort of plot, we have seen Ghajini by Aamr khan and scores of such films, but what sets this film apart is how realistically and logically things are setup, which even surprised me, a jaded film goer who can predict every plot turns and twists and even surprised me a few times! So kudos to the writers.
Dialog is crackling throughout, lots and lots of punchlines, the villain has excellent lines, you just LOVE to hate such a fellow, he doesn’t do anything overtly villainous or evil, but he is SO despicable you will hate him, but also feel happy to see them get beaten up! The dialogs work in a big way to make this film very memorable. Especially hrithik’s “tu ayega na” dialog. Not just as a punch line but as a plot line, so Hrithik’s character is SURE that this guy will show up. Otherwise the plot won’t move ahead.
Lastly but very importantly the music, songs and background score. Rajesh roshan has given a very remixed 90’s feel to the songs, he is a bit old fashioned but it works rather well in this film, the background score REALLY picks up the film especially the Kaabil theme tune, used in romance, revenge and drama sends shivers in its depth and power! Without this music the film wont have half the impact it has…
Now for the conclusion: This film was simply amazing. The impact every scene of drama has, it led to claps, cheers and hoots. The way the story unfolds, it doesn’t let go of the audience for even a second. I was simply amazing how simple yet effective it was. The story, acting, dialogs and score all came together to make you FEEL the character’s pain and need for revenge.
Rating : 8/10. This film is simply superb, an good and effective love story turned revenge drama which avoids all the clichés and doesn’t over do it and keeps it simple, real and effective. MUST watch in the theaters
P.S : A special shout out to my singer buddy Jubin Nautiyal, his voice lends so much to this film, by god what an amazing rendition of the title track, the pain of the character comes out in the voice. Kudos sir. Keep it up!

Kaabil-E-Tareef.
Kaabil - The Mind Sees All....
Now if you ask me the same question which others are asking, then the answer is YES.....Kaabil is much better than Raees..It's not that Raees is bad, but Kaabil is slightly better... This film doesn't defy logic and that's the main reason why everyone is giving it a big thumbs up, be it the audience or the critics....Sanjay Gupta's direction is good and the characters are highly convincing... It would be a henious crime if you don't feel for Rohan Bhatnagar and Supriya.... Rohit Roy's wicked act is convincing....Ronit Roy as the baddie politician does a commendable job...Girish Kulkarni as the corrupt cop is commendable too...In short, the performances by the ensemble cast is top notch...Ayananka Bose amd Sudeep Chatterjee's cinematography is appealing....Music and background score deserve mention...Dialogues are hard hitting and stays with you even after the conclusion of the movie... Yami Gautam is surprisingly good in this movie...Let's talk more about Hrithik Roshan...He is the show stealer..His act is sure to move you and arouse your tear glands....He does the blind act so perfectly that you would forget it's Hrithik and start to feel for Rohan Bhatnagar....Some twists are also there in this emotional thriller....We all know that it's next to impossible for the visually impaired ones to do all these stunts, still Sanjay Gupta's storytelling, characterisation and direction forces you to believe this one and he totally nails it, what with showing logic and reason for every scene(though I found only one loophole)....His style and technique is perfect as he manages to engross the audience till the end waiting for Rohit Bhatnagar to avenge every single drop of blood for his wife's rape and murder.....
Note :- Don't compare Raees and Kaabil..Both are good in their respective genres..Still if you want to compare, I insist you to watch Kaabil first for its novelty....
Warning :- You may find instances of Drishyam but still, there's a hell and heaven difference between them...Go for it and you won't regret...

The film remains in its humble boundaries, nothing over the top and that comes out its strength. I wish the makers cast a better villain, but it works. Definitely better than Raees.

Kaabil is a film directed by Sanjay Gupta. This film is considered redeeming for Hrithik Roshan after a disastrous Mohenjo Daro. I saw this film with the least of expectations. And yes, I got satisfied with the less expectations I got.

Plot: Rohan and Supriya's life takes a disastrous turn after an unexpected turn of events.

Story and direction: On a very simple note, the film is a revenge drama. When I see a revenge drama, I consider Badlapur and Ghajini to be one of the finest (atleast from Indian perspective). The first half of the film actually sucks. It was as if the writer wanted to rush to the revenge part of the film. The pace of the film was too fast for me during first half. The second half of the film where the revenge actually starts is great. The first half was so bad that I thought why the hell I was watching the film. It was the second half that made me believe the film was good but not executed properly. That is mainly the director's fault (Obviously it is not as crappy as Jazbaa). If the love story was kept in flashback mode, I would have liked it much better. Some scenes of the film even looked like 'How the hell is this possible ?' Acting: Hrithik is a star all the way in the film. His happiness, sadness, angriness, etc.. you can be with him all the time, he did such a wonderful work. Yami too was good in her role. Ronit Roy was great as the villain. The Marathi accent was perfectly executed by him. Rohit on the other hand was OK. Narendra Jha and Girish Kulkarni as cops were good. Suresh Menon showed less of comedy in this film, which I wasn't expecting. I wanted to see him do comedy.

Songs: This is where the film actually sucked a lot. The songs were too bad. I didn't like any of them. I always hate songs that are reboots. 'Saara zamanaa' was one of them.

Favorite scene: I guess it would be the entry of Ronit Roy in the film. The way he consoles Hrithik in the film after the tragedy, was great. As I said before, the Marathi accent was an added bonus from Ronit's side.

Verdict: I would say that Kaabil is just a one time watch. It's just OK. Nothing much special about it. Hrithik was above excellence in the film. I hope Hrithik makes some good choice of films in the future.

I give this film a 7/10.

Actually Kaabil......
I should not have done this, but all the time I was comparing this movie with many others. In the very first scene, when I saw blind Rohan doing his works by his own, I suddenly caught to remember the role of Naseeruddin Shah in his classic film "sparsh". In the end of the first half of the movie, I thought that it is another "Badlapur" (....once because Yami Gautam died here also). Then the thrill of the movie made me to remember "Drishyam" . Even somehow in the action sequences, a scene from the TV serial "Mahabharat" got into my mind (this was that scene where a blind Arjun was fighting by hearing the sound).... and so on......
But, actually the movie was quite different from all these comparisons. Possibly, Kaabil is the first hindi movie to show the love story of two blind persons. Also I feel that there was a lot of exaggerations in this movie. Though I will suggest to ignore them and enjoy the movie. Overall, it was an average watch.
