A Jolly-Good Film.
Jolly LLB 2 - A Jolly-Good film. So, my 100th movie in a theatre is nothing short of a BLOCKBUSTER. I won't compare it with its prequel as I haven't watched the latter yet. After Rustom, here comes another court-room drama from Akshay Kumar and as usual, he never disappoints us. This satirical drama which is directed by National Award winner Subhash Kapoor of Jolly LLB fame, tackles many issues such as terrorism, corruption, etc. and surprisingly Kapoor manages to handle all these with ease and perfection. Huma Qureshi does a commendable job as Pushpa. Sayani Gupta is strong as an actress and emotes well in all the scenes. Annu Kapoor is the perfect cast as the opposition's lawyer. His one-liners do work for the film. Kumud Mishra comes as a surprise as he is seen in a negative character for the first time. Saurabh Shukla doesn't need to be applauded. He deserves much more for elevating the level of humour in this flick. He shines in every frame, what with the 'Gulaabo' dance being one of the best. Akshay Kumar must be on cloud nine after delivering back to back superhits. He fits in as the titular character perfectly and we can't think any one else in his place. Kapoor never tries to be preachy and that's a winner in itself. In spite of portraying certain serious scenes, it never loses its humour and that works and justifies its satirical genre. Dialogues, direction, story and screenplay are managed by the director single handedly. The first half is a bit slow with the stretched 'Go Pagal' track, but it suddenly paces up from the commencement of the second half and never lags again. Some scenes are so touchy that it would force you to leave the theatre with a heavy heart.
Note :- Everything works for this seeti-maar entertainer except the abrupt songs.
Warning :- Akshay is in a winning streak. You just can't afford to miss this eye-opener.

Its decent enough!
JOLLY L.L.B 2 Movie Review :

The premise of the film is a lowly lawyer working as an assistant for a famous lawyer is faced with life changing decisions and an complicated case which no one else will take.

Courtroom drama / lawyer films and TV shows have always been part of my favorite genre, from Boston Legal to Pink I like to see every single one of them. But these days this genre of movie has become too similar. First half the good lawyer will appear to lose, then he will gain an upper hand, then the opposition will somehow demean that, then again he is about to lose, finally at the last possible second he will pull out some googly and win the case! Sounds familiar?

This film too offers nothing new in that regard…

Plot / Story: The movie’s plot is realistic enough, conveys the premise well and sets up the events adequately. But apart from a few scenes, it has no zing. Its not tense or crackling like PINK or over blown like Damini. It’s just there, plain and normal.

Direction: This is where both the part 1 and part 2 completely fail. This guy is NOT a good director. Somehow the scene which need to have impact often fall flat or are just shot weirdly and seem like a parody. It’s not unwatchable, but it’s nothing like the tense Special 26 or Rustom which was electrifying. A courtroom drama REALLY needs to have that extra factor.

Acting : Akshay Kumar is FLAWLESS and spot on. He doesn’t miss a single beat. He has grown big time as an actor and now is easily one of India’s best leading actors. His lawyer opponent Anu Kapoor is also PAR excellence, the best parts of the film is the two of them sparring. But that’s just a few scenes. Saurabh Sukla plays an eccentric judge who is presumably reprising his role from the first part. He is also rather good. But despite these 3 stellar performances, somehow the film isn’t very tightly wound
.
The film’s main events are revealed too early and there is no air of mystery to what happened and why. In that regards PINK got it right, they didn’t show the main events till the end keeping the audience wondering who did what and what REALLY took place…

Rating : 6/10. If you LOVE lawyer/courtroom dramas, you might like this one. If you are an Akki fan, you will also like this film.

I didn’t dislike the film, but it didn’t punch hard enough in its dialogs and scene until the VERY end. The climax was already revealed in the trailers so even that lost its punch!

Mild Spoilers ahead :

P.S : Why the heck is this movie called State VS Jolly LLB 2, in the film its one private firm vs jolly. the police dept abandons the tainted officer in question!

P.P.S : In the first scene, the mic Jolly is speaking into has NO WIRES connected to it! its like a internet meme waiting to happen!

Jolly LLB 2 is a film written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. When I first heard this film and knew that Akshay Kumar was in it, I knew not to expect much. But when I saw the film, I was happy to have been proved wrong.

Plot: Jagdishwar Mishra goes head on with Mr. Khurana regarding a case on a fake encounter.

Story and direction: If you loved the first film, I feel you will too love the second. The introduction is a bit comedic. But once the film gets serious. I was fully with it. Many people who saw this film said that it had less of comedy. For them I would like to say that this is a sarcastic film. There is a difference between sarcasm and comedy. Each and every thing shown here was very true. While the first film deals with irresponsible rich guys, this one deals with corruption in our country (and in some way terrorism). I guess I couldn't fault the screenplay in any way.

Acting: Akshay Kumar does a great job as the poor type lawyer. Huma Qureshi was also good as the supporting (and alcoholic) wife. Annu Kapoor was also great as the opposing and rich kind of lawyer. Saurabh Shukhla was again the star of the film (as in the previous too). HIs comic timing is impeccable. It was good to see Kumud Mishra do something new.

Music: I guess this was the only flaw with the entire film. There was not a single song that I can remember and say that I loved this song. It would have been better if the film was song-less.

Favorite scene: I guess it would be the climax of the film when the entire truth is revealed. I loved the way the reality of law and order and government system was kept.

Verdict: I had a blast an entire time with this film. Yes, I wish the film was song-less. But that's it. I never had a dull moment with the film.

I will give it a 9/10.

One Time Watch
Nowhere near to 1st part.
The story starts in the same way, Jolly is not getting any case. He need money to buy a chamber so he took money from Hina(a pregnant lady) for recommending her case to his senior Rizvi Sahib. But when Hina finds out that Jolly bluffed her, she commits suicide.
Feeling with guilt, Jolly decided to fight Hina's case(where her husband is killed by police in a fake encounter). He fought with the system, find out the evidences and proves that the encounter is fake is the whole story of the film.
When we compare with first part, I think Arshad Warsi played Jolly role better than Akshay Kumar. Saurabh Shukla as Judge played his cameo well, but this time his part was unnecessarily exceeded a bit. Annu Kapoor performance as opposition is good.
This film will be known for his

The movie is consistent with its previous part in term of humor, patchiness, courtroom drama. Saurabh Shukla as the judge was better in the previous part. His part was unnecessarily more verbose in the movie.
The movie pulls out humor, current issues and emotions in a patchy way. Overall it is a good watch with solid performances.

Gaurav reviewed Jolly LLB 2
Funny and Tragic Courtroom Drama
Akshay Kumar as Jolly is in search of a big break like Arshad Warsi in the first installment of the movie. Jolly's motto is that a good life is all about money. Finally he got a chance to show his skill and had a clash with AnnuKapoor. His fight with the rich people take him to meet the dreaded people and travel at unknown places. It was made the same way first part was made, but with Akshay Kumar this movie will surely earn more than 100 crore due to hi fan following.
