Unrealistic characters,Overstretched plot,Over emotional and sappy at times with people crying every other moment for no good reason and mediocre music by Mozart himself pretty much sums up Jab Tak Hai Jaan.It looked as if the movie was completed in a jiffy.The only positive i could derive was the beautiful yashji's trademark cinematography which we won't see ever again and katrina for the first time looking ethereally beautiful and convincing at the same time,the sole reason i rated it 7.8 instead of 6.8.

This movie will be closest to my heart because it is the final goodbye from Yash Chopra to his lovers and yes i loved all of his movies. The movie is all about true love and fight of a person with God to get back his love. The movie is about Samar Anand(Shah rukh)who is a major in Indian Army. He diffuses bombs withut any protective gear. Akira(Anushka Sharma) is a Discovery channel filmmaker from London who is in India to shoot a documentary. She manages to get hold of Samar's diary as he saves her.Through the diary she comes to know that 10 years ago, Samar lived in London and fell in love with Meera(katrina kaif). But she believed in God too much and when Samar met with an accident she promised god not to meet him again and they break up. Thus, Samar feels that god is against his love and he joined Indian army to prove to god that his life is not dependent on god. She starts making a documentary on Indian Army and joins the group of Samar. After knowing all this Akira falls in for Samar. But Samar still loves Meera and thus he refuses. As Akira comes to London she invites Samar to London for a visit and he agrees . But he meets with a car accident in London as they meet.Samar is diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, and he remembers only the events before his first accident a decade ago.Concerned Akira finds Meera and tells her to help Samar by pretending to be Samar's wife for some time till he regains his memory. In the meantime, Akira realises that Major Samar is only a fragment of the young Samar; he used to be happy and sociable, but is now bitter and lonely. One day Samar finds a bomb planted in the London Underground, and helps defuse it. The event jogs his memory, and he realises that Meera was lying to him. Samar confronts Meera with a choice: to be with him, or see him keep risking his life until he is dead. He then leaves for Kashmir, where he continues defusing bombs. During a conversation with Akira, Meera realises that her beliefs and prayers subjected Samar to a fate worse than death; realising her mistake, she goes to Kashmir and they reunite. Samar defuses his last bomb, and then proposes to her. So if you are in for an epic last adieu from Yasji
DO WATCH IT

Last movie by Late Yash chopra ji who is known for one of the best romantic movies till date. It has everything one could wish in a great classic love story. Story by Aditya Chopra is superb,the best thing about the scipt is its unpredictability which is rare in a romantic movie. Screenplay is not so great but good. Beautiful locations were always an important ingredient in a Yash chopra movie and this movie is just like poetry on motion. A.R Rehman's music is just awesome and every song is perfectly pictured Length of the movie never seemed a deterrent for me, in fact i wish it could be more. Shahrukh's one of the finest performances is the best thing about the movie. Katrina is not a brilliant actor we know but its her best work till date , she worked hard in this movie. Anushka played the character of a 21 yr old girl and she played it beautifully. Finally all i can say is that its a treat for every SRK fan and if u'r not a King khan fan and still u'r looking for a Romantic movie u'll never regret your decision.

The last movie directed by THE GREAT Yash Chopra offers more than a sizzling experience with another romantic film. He casts one of the best in business Shahrukh Khan along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma as the lead actresses. This story is about Samar Anand (Shahrukh Khan) who falls in love with a fabulously rich girl named Meera (Katrina Kaif). When she dumps him for superstitious reasons, he comes back to India and joins the army bomb defusing squad.
In Ladakh, after ten years, his life comes across another girl named Akira (Anushka Sharma) who is a filmmaker. She is a young, carefree, bubbly and ambitious girl who is enjoying through her twenties and lives a happy life. The twist comes when she falls in love with a much elder Samar after reading his diary and interacting with him.
The plot is overstretched a bit in which Anushka helps Shahrukh find his love and get her back when he loses a memory due to an accident. The movie depicts eternal love and does make one feel a bit exaggerated after the movie.
The story lacks a mile as Aditya Chopra fails to convert this ordinary script into a brilliant one! The actors make the movie altogether interesting with all of them doing justice to their roles. Shahrukh Khan as always delivers an eye catching experience with Anushka plays a role which will be remembered. The songs look lively in the movie although they didn't climb the charts as the actors put life in it.
Afterall, the movie will be remembered as Yash Chopra's last, it does contain a bit of substance and may remind you of the romantic movies of 90s. Although, dialogues are a bit cheesy, one might just love the on-screen chemistry between the actors.
