From performances and writing to setting a thriller mystery tone, nothing works as advertised. Even for an adaptation, there are glaring plotholes and an audacious attempt at presenting them without any modification. The opening scene alone is meek and powerless, fails to make the impact of a crime thriller.

The only saving grace is Tisca Chopra's performance and a convincing portrayal of a reputed doctor, Mira practicing at an upscale private hospital who goes through a series of emotions and revelations as the meteor named SP Prithvi Singh (Ronit Roy) hits her and her family demanding a botched operation of the CM. Ronit Roy isn't meant to play the bad guy, especially this bad guy with a nuanced personality and a multitude of dimensions. There is an attempt at making characters seem well developed but forced use of slang and hip curse words overshadows the weak plotline

You're better off watching an episode of crime patrol than dragging through this heap of mess.

Adaptation of an Israeli series, Hotstar’s new series has an astounding yet extremely confusing storyline. The whole plot of the show has so many subplots that after a while, the viewer loses interest in keeping the track of it. Each character comes with their own baggage, their own skeletons in the closet. Once I started watching the show, I could not keep myself from clicking on ‘next episode’, the show being that intriguing. Though the ending disappointed me a tad bit, still I don’t regret watching the series. Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra literally aced their role to the par.

Revolving around the story of a surgeon, Dr. Mira, whose family is held hostage a night before she is to operate on the chief minister, 'Hostages' is a HotStar Original with an interesting yet unoriginal premise. What follows is an intriguing yet banal unboxing of the conspiracy at hand. Starring Tisca Chopra and Ronit Roy, the series stands strong because of their brilliant acting. Otherwise, with the plot being similarly central to a couple of TV series and even movies, including, an Israeli series by the same name, there wasn't much left to look forward to. But these two anchor the entire storyline and make it worth watching. Overall, a decent one-time watch.

How would you respond if you were asked to kill an innocent person in order to save your family who are kept at gunpoint by an unknown intruder in your house?

That is exactly what this thriller series revolve around. Leading the cast is the ever-so-elegant Tisca Chopra, who marvels in her role as a Doctor who saves lives, but finds herself in a fix when she is asked to kill the Chief Minister of the state, on whom she is supposed to operate.

The series is special for several reasons. Ronit Roy is impressive in his role as a SuperCop and proves once again that age is a just a number. Then Tisca continues to excel in playing classic roles to perfection. The support cast is really overshadowed but the ultimate hero is the story and the plot.

Must watch for suspense thriller lovers, for there are very few of them in Indian Web series market. Do watch it in one go, it's that good!

The crux of the story is where Dr Mira has been taken hostage and they want her to misperform the surgery on the chief minister. But this is also a story of Mira and her husband, of Mira’s loyalty to her profession, of Mira’s daughter’s romantic relationship, of a father and son, a man and a woman, a man and a brother, a villain and his girlfriend.

Hostages ia a thriller that offers nothing new in terms of the story it tells. Tosca chopra plays a doctor who holds the family together during the crises but has no idea about what has been going on under her nose in her own family for a while now. Her husband, Sanjay(Paruin Dabas) is in dire financial straits, her 18 year old daughter, Shaina(Malhar Rathod)is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's baby, her younger son, Shovan (Sharad Joshi),is a hacker who has leaked his school exam papers only to impress his girlfriend.
The family is taken hostage by a group of ultra moronic and amateur criminals, led by ex-cop Prithvi Singh(Ronit Roy). The captors wants the doctor to kill the state's chief minister when she operates on him the next day. The doctor and her family try all the lamest tricks to get out of the situation.
Hostages is neither very satisfying nor it can be ignored completely. The series concludes with few unanswered questions which might be answered in the second season.

Hostages in an Indian crime thriller web series by Hotstar and is an official adaptation of an Israeli series of the same name. It is based on an intriguing premise that a surgeon and her family are held hostage by masked men to pressurize the surgeon into kill the Chief Minister during a surgery. It stars Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra in leading roles and they are outright brilliant. They are the soul of the show. The screenplay is at a good pace and utilizes the 10 episode duration. It is difficult to stop when you have begun watching it. The show does not let down the viewers and is an example of what good acting and equally good script can do. This is one crime thriller which should be on your watch-list.

Great Suspense Thriller which keeps you rooted to your seats from the beginning, Seeing the trailer it eagers you to definitely binge watch this series and is worth the expectations. Loses control in the middle after the first four episodes but brings it back on track with the last episodes. The last episode is fast paced which keeps you guessing what actually happened and makes you to wait to get the answer till the next season arrives. All the episodes maintain the thrill consistently and never gets it down throughout the Season 1. Another Highlight of this web series is the acting, Tisca Chopra (Dr.Anand) and Ronit Roy (Prithvi Singh) has nailed the roles with perfection which even makes watching this series much more interesting.
Overall Hostages is yet another hit by hotstar and is worth watching due to its intense story line and thriller epiosdes.

The hostages series was quite intense . I found it bit interesting in beginning but it end by the ending. As the ending was quite
confusing. Like in the begnining dr. Anand was not ready to do anything wrong for the sake of dr. Tags later it disappeared in between. Story line was new. No doubt each character played well. My favourite character in the series was dr. Anand as she played the role of perfect mother and a professional doctor.

Hostage is a suspense as well as thriller web series. The story is based on Dr. Mira Anand family where she had to face a difficult situation where she had to decided to save the Chief Ministers operation or her own family. The story has lot of twist and turns and it makes the viewer excite what happens next. I found the series quiet interesting. I would rate it 4.5 as it was very good series to watch as the character were too perfect for their roles in it.

hostages is creepy thriller series with so many layers and plots. For viewer it is difficult to judge who is wrong and right doer. The movie by veteran director Sudhir Mishra is showing how a doctor was being puppeted on the hand of a hoping retiring SP's gunmen by capturing his family. Though this series come with one more layer that the doctor's family is not as innocent as it seems. Thus making it quite creepy movie.
