Home Alone (1990)

Home Alone is a splendid movie about an 8-year old boy who accidentally is left behind when his family rushes off on a Christmas vacation. This movie evokes all sorts of scary nostalgia. Being left home alone, when you were a kid, meant hearing strange noises and doing all the things that grownups would tell you to stop doing, if they were there.

A Christmas classic that still holds up incredibly well, the film has many plot holes and some of the slapstick humour may not work for everyone but Home alone is so much fun to watch and the script really is genius. The comedy here is excellent the entire third act is just hilarious and all the trapes are perfect, The film also has lots of heart I love the church scene between Kevin and Old man Marley and the finale scene between Kevin and his Mother is definitely heartwarming. The soundtrack is iconic and John Williams easily should have won an Oscar for this film. The cast is amazing Macaulay Culkin is the perfect child actor so charming and charismatic and Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are delightful at playing two stupid criminals, The supporting cast is memorable too and I especially love Catherine O Hara as Kevin's mother. Home alone is a Christmas classic that I look forward to watching every year.

As the name suggests, the movie is about a kid(Kevin) who accidentally gets left alone at home when his whole family leaves for a Christmas vacation. But family realizes that it is missing a member only after reaching the vacation destination meanwhile Kevin all alone at home enjoys his life to the fullest, living just the way he wants, for a couple of days before his mother returns home for him on the very eve of Christmas. There are a lot of adventures fun and brave too, that our witty Kevin goes through in his days alone at home, watch to find out.

Can a child who stays alone at home for Christmas possible end up in a pool of trouble ? Yes, this is the basic premise of Home Alone. With two petty-crooks trying to break-into Kevin's house, he needs to put up the fight of his life. Using every day utilities and home supplies like paint, iron-box, glue, Christmas decoration, Kevin fights back with the crooks. What ensues is a complete and fun-filled escapade.
