It gives you a different view of life and very genuinely raise the social issues like child abuse. As you walk with the story, you will feel the different perceptions of life and try to understand other's perspective.

Highway is a complex mix of harsh reality and a dreamlike life. The story of a young kidnapped girl takes an unprecedented turn as she finds, of all things, freedom in being bound. Veera, played by Alia Bhatt is one of her best characters yet, a girl who is sexually abused in her own home. Distressed and exploited, she finds a way out through her kidnapping. Randeep Hooda, who plays her kidnapper as Mahabir, finds himself entangled in the girl he has kidnapped. She is destined to be trafficked but Mahabir finds himself protecting her after learning of her abuse. The relationship between these damaged characters develops wordlessly, only through her rawness and his ruggedness. By the time you are engaged the abrupt end to a blossoming romance pulls the rug from right underneath you. However, the end is symbolic to Veera's freedom that she found through being held captive. It's a story you cannot leave in the middle of.

This is all together a different movie with a sensitive concept. Its a beautifull journey of to completely different people with different background and classes. Its very intresting to see how and why the fall in love .Imtiyaz Ali had again proved his potential as a storyteller. Alia Bhatt walked past her image of a heroine to an actress.Randeep Hooda was exceptionally amazing. The music is extremely good and outskirts of punjab and haryana gives a refreshing element to the story.

A very few songs are good like patakha guddi and mahi vey.
Alia Bhatt looks cute as always and Randeep Hooda is very hot. I wish he would be getting better movies.
The movie has no story at all.
How can people ever like it I don't understand.
