Gone Girl (2014)

Good watch
The trailer and posters of the movie indicated that this movie is about the assassination of AMY(Rosamund Pike) by her husband, NICK(Ben Affleck ). But surprisingly the story takes an interesting turn at half time and the surprises keep pouring in in the second half. This movie can qualify as a psychological thriller, a story which will keep you glued to your seats and show the other side of each character. Sometimes you may wonder who the protagonist of the movie is! Neil Patrick Harris also shows us the brief glimpses of his flaunt all you got attitude from HIMYM. The best part of the movie is the portrayal of the media and the society, which can be easily manipulated in the modern times by intelligent people. I would recommend this movie for its excellent flow and background score. What a relief after movies like Anabelle and Happy New Year!!

The movie has an awsome plot, also does the performance of the actors. Ben Afleck, the new dark and old batman plays his role so well, my fr told me he is also the director of this film, so he is a resepective man. One day I shall watch this film again, maybe with my wife :D

Must Watch
Gone Girl is a terrific movie. I did not read the book. I have just seen this movie and although I loved it at first, I was so disappointed by the ending, totally unexpected.
I thought the characters were pretty well developed, the acting was superb, the direction was excellent. Probably the best way to see it is not knowing anything about it before hand. I didn't know what to expect. From the trailer i assumed the movie was about a violent husband.
Pros
Good performances by all
Strong story
Con
two-and-a-half hours long (Could not find anything else :)
Good enough to pay to watch it in the cinema hall.

Best of the psychological thriller
"Who are you? What have we done to each other?" the line reverberates and Amy Dunne played by Rosamund Pike stares at you with void, cold, sinister eyes. The scene shifts to Nick Dunne played by Ben Affleck - a very heartbroken, tired man running to his pub (owned by his sister too) to find solace on the day of his fifth wedding anniversary, playing board game. But as he comes back he realizes his wife, Amy, is missing and left behind clues (which was her favorite game on their wedding anniversary).
The story picks up from here and creates an amazing tension among the viewers- the conflict of characterization from Nick's point of view how Amy changed from being a loving caring wife to a person whom Nick cannot even recognize, the problems they never speak about but looming in their head, the serious cause of doubting, mistrust- giving a picture how Amy became unreachable and unbearable. The marriage became a farce. Now with every minute the story gets more and more twisted leaving hungry for answers. The sequence of the movie is mindblowingly riveting- as you do not know what will happen next. And hell it does end with a bang! leaving behind you with the question- "Who are you? What have we done to each other?"
As the poster suggests the grey, gloomy sky and the hollow faces- the story is gloomy, spine chilling, intense psychological drama and the best of the thriller, which needs to be watched - what happens to the beautiful, ravishing Amy Dunne?

Wonderful performances especially Rosamunde Pike. Parts like that don't come along every day.

Plenty of twists and turns to hold interest, even with a long running time. The Trent Reznor score alone creeps you out.

I had not read the book, as we actually had a missing woman in our family (presumed dead, the husband likely murdered her, no body found). Having lived through some of what was on screen, I found the representation of the media frenzy to be completely accurate. And practicing what you say before you go on one of those crazy shows, too. I had trepidation about seeing this film, but a friend reassured me it was very different than our real situation. Had a few flashback moments, but this one has lots of Oscar buzz, so I'm glad I saw it.

Gone Girl is the kind of movie that comes once in two or three years. Having been a fan of David Fincher from Se7en to The Girl With The Dragon I saw this movie with high expectations and trust me when I say this, I wasn't disappointed.
The strength of this movie lies in the sheer realism of the main characters. Rosamund Pike is absolutely phenomenal as Amy Elliot Dunne, one of the best written fictional characters of the present time. Rosamund Pike portrays the character of a spooky, aloof, meticulous and clever girl with panache. Ben Affleck is also good in his role of a confused, dumb husband. Neil Pattrick Harris and Tyler Perry are also very effective in their short roles.
But what really makes this movie standout is the story which is so masterfully written by Gillian Flynn and the way in which this story has been portrayed on screen by David Fincher. The background score and the clever use of silence add to the tension in this incredible dark thriller. The only thing which I think could have been changed is the ending as i find it a bit anti climatic. Else this is one hell of a movie.

Absolutely breadth taking
At times, I feel I should trick my future husband like this if he doesn't treat me right. Absolutely brilliant concept. Loved the performance of both the actors. Loved the storyline and the plot. This is one of those rare films that outdid the book. Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck have performed exceptionally well. Seems like a feminist film where they support the woman's sexual needs and her capability to destroy her man's life, in literal sense. The 2014 suspense thriller not only made a revolutionary comeback of the two actors but also heightened the level of expectancy from the audience.
I hope they make more films like this in which women have their interests and fantasies exposed and are not portrayed wrongly either.

"Gone Girl" is art and entertainment, a thriller and an issue, and an creepy assured audience picture. It is also a film that shifts emphasis and perspective so many times that you may feel as though you're watching many short movies strung together, each morphing into the next.as a feminist film it is great. The woman takes control of her own destiny with the man inverting cultural roles.Who knows what lies beyond the ambiguous ending?

Unveils present-day marriage truths(Though not really, exaggeration and little dramatic at places but then depiction of thought is prominent enough to stay ). Movie ends leaving an extra edge.
Gone are the days to blame it all on men hah !

It's an adult though :-) ..thriller is extremely breath taking. Complete hall fell into silence ..and then remorse when the movie ends.
