Dog Day Afternoon (1975)

This flick is based on a true story happened in early 70's. A very tight character drama - in which Al pacino successfully shows a new dimension to his acting and with a very brave performance as a bisexual and was trying to rob a bank. Coming after masculine performances in the best film of all time - the Godfather, along with Godfather part Two and Serpico, this role came as a surprise to me but Pacino with his often usual shouting role was brilliant. John Cazale a personal favourite actor of mine - his stunningly brilliant performance in godfather part two is something i will never forget, also his performances in the deer hunter and godfather one were EXCELLENT. This movie must be milestone in Hollywood. i sure recommend this.

Directed by Sidney Lumet, this 1975 classic is inspired by a true story of a veteran who in desperate measures plans a bank heist with his mates and how it goes extremely erroneous. it shows how absurd life situations can get.
It combines the thrilling heist with the hostage situation and focuses on police brutality and the ridiculous manner the media covers the whole incident.
Al Pacino delivered an outstanding performance and earned an Oscar nomination for the Best actor. Writer Frank Pierson walked away with the statue for Best Original screenplay.
