Mind-Blowing
This is a incident that almost every Indian citizen knew about but still, it was needed to be said.

This is an adaptation needed to be made to "show" people the cruelty of the incident that had taken place in the same country they have been living in since birth. This is incident changed the face of this country, the judgement of people. I really want to give Richie Mehta, a standing ovation for writing and adapting this cruel incident and nailed it on Indian web. Especially, what happened after the actual incident back in 2012, how were the culprits finally caught and punished for such a crime, needed to be said and I believe Shefali Shah nailed her character of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, along with actors Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang.

This is not a series that is meant to be binge-watched. It hits you so hard, you won't even be able to sleep at night by yourself. It meant to be seen one episode at a time and each episode takes it's own to register in your brain.
It is a masterpiece.

True crime is an extremely tricky genre for popular media such as films and shows for the simple reason that the crimes these shows portray have left such a scathing footprint that it becomes morally wrong to portray it through a non-biased lens. A creator thus has to take a balanced and objective stance while making a true-crime show. This is what Richie Mehta does with Delhi Crime, his 2019 Netflix show. Richie, the writer, director behind the show, takes one of the most horrible crimes in this decade, the famous Nirbhaya case that shook the entire world, and tells its aftermath in the most brutally honest way possible. The show does a great job of keeping the narrative balanced and simple, which makes it very easy to digest even though it deals with such a horrible crime.
The series captures the investigation process that followed the rape case and how the Delhi police captured all the culprits responsible for the assault and death of the victim. Vartika Chaturvedi, played by Shefali Shah, is the Deputy Commissioner of Police who has been tasked to solve the case before all the culprits escape from the city. She thus assembles a team of cops and starts investigating. Through the investigation, the show reveals the intricate details of the crime and also portrays the pain and anger the whole nation was going through. Various protests across the city took place in real life that has been aptly captured in the series as it is without any overt dramatization of it. Nothing in the series seems hyped or dramatized; such is the writing of it. Richie told in an interview that he had been writing the show for over three years and it shows in the series. The screenplay is very well researched and written in a very compelling style that makes the show, a taut and compelling thriller.
Delhi Crime has an ensemble of great actors who are at the top of their game. Shefali Shah gives a career-defining performance as the strong and clever DCP who is shattered after witnessing such a tragedy and is doing everything she can to track the culprits down. Rajesh Tailang, who appears as an inspector called Bhupendra Singh, perfectly plays the role of the rough and tough cop, struggling to run his home with his meager salary while giving his everything to the police department. Other terrific actors like Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Avijit Dutt, all give some of their best performances which elevate the experience of watching the series.
Delhi Crime is devoid of any over-the-top subplots, musical interludes, or overtly stylistic approach which makes the show seem like a documentary in terms of realism. It is a terrific show which deserves all the more attention just for the fact that it is brave enough to show the events just as it is without any emotional manipulation as happens quite often with other shows.

Highly recommended!
Delhi crime is hands down, one of the best criminal series I have seen till date. Based on the gruesome crime, Nirbhaya case’ which shook the whole nation, the rawness that the makers captured in the show made it so hard to take a break from it. The extreme reality behind the whole storyline makes it extremely exhausting for the mind but the brilliance of direction and action captures the attention of the viewers. Some scenes were a real eye-opener while some made my blood boil whereas some scenes sent a cold shiver down my spine. But on a short note, for all the readers, go for it. This sow is utter brilliance.

Chilling
Delhi crime is the new Netflix series based on the real life mortifying case of Nirbhaya that happened on 16th December, 2012. While this case gathered attention worldwide and shook the ground beneath the feet of common people. Delhi crime unlike other series shows the behind the scenes work and operations done by the Delhi police, the strategy of the Delhi police to catch the inhumane villains of this crime. We've read and seen in the news that the culprits were captured with a span of 5-6 days after the misdeed. The gory details and the work scheme that were put into capturing them did not reach the public's eye. And people are still unaware of it. Delhi crime unveils the details that happened behind the public eye. The actors portraying the real life victims have done spectacular work.
I'm straining myself from writing any spoilers and details about the series, because o believe everyone needs to see this. It's a seven part thriller series which deserves all the attention.

Delhi Crime is an outstanding portrayal of the Delhi Nirbhaya rape case, that took place in the year 2012. This is based on that heinous event that happened in the country we have been living in, for years and this brought together all the other states, to demand justice from the government system.
Special mention should definitely be given to Shefali Shah who had wonderfully played the role of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi. The rest of the cast, namely Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, Yashaswini Dayama have also played a major role in this web-series. The protest against this shameful crime, the investigations that took place, into finding the men who had done such a crime and what goes into bringing justice to a rape victim in this country, fighting and protesting against all the odd powers that supports it or doesn't want it to receive justice is all what this web-series is about.
This is definitely recommendable and a must watch for all. You can watch all the seven episodes of this series on Netflix.

Show with Transparency.....
Firstly, it has done really good job at showing the situation of women's safety in India. At one side we see a helpless woman being raped by brutes, and then we have lead investigators being women. It was such a contrast. Although, a male chief minister is shown in the movie but Ms. Shiela Dixit, a woman was CM at the time.
All the lead actors are already established character artists who excel in their roles and proved yet again their acting prowess. Shefali Shah was outstanding in the role of DCP. She brought the struggle in the system that an honest police officer goes through to get the job done. Rasika Duggal has continued on her performance from Mirzapur with ease.

Delhi crime sets out aiming very high, like it tries to tell a story of a heinous crime with objectivity, create a gripping thriller that unfolds in a quick span of time, weave the personal conflicts of the protagonists. This series is such a well made and brilliantly executed series. When I first heard about it, I thought that it is just an attempt to sensationalize the most famous and gruesome crime in recent history, but to my pleasant surprise, the series is quite restrained and made with a lot of sensitivity. All the actors are in a topmost form, and they deliver superb performances. The series is really gripping and holds the attention till the last episode. This is one of the best portrays of policing in India that I have seen on a television screen, and I really have a newfound respect for our cops after watching this series. #country #cops #emotional #love

Dustbin reviewed Delhi Crime
The seven-part series, expertly shot, takes us back to the crime that we all wish had never taken place. The word ‘heinous’ took on a new meaning after that December 2012 night, when a young woman was mercilessly raped and mutilated on a moving bus, as her male friend cowered in the front, helpless and beaten.
We all know what happened, and how it happened, because we followed the unflagging media reportage, and witnessed (and, in some instances, participated in) the outpouring of grief and anger which swept the Capital. The citizens of Delhi were forced to shake off their customary apathy, and take to the streets. The brutality of the attack shocked everyone.
Delhi Crime is a fictionalized crime drama, based on the painstaking investigation which led to the capture of the six men who attacked the couple.
The show’s narrative, however, merely positions the protests as an annoying inconvenience that the poor policemen have to deal with. All other characters—protesters, families of the culprits, victim’s kin, media, politicians and civil society—spout synthetic dialogues that help them fit perfectly into the narrative of how the Delhi Police fought a brave battle to nab the culprits and earned very little praise for it.
Delhi Crime gets so desperate to give the police a clean chit that the protagonist of the show, DCP Vartika Srivastav, played by Shefali Shah, is shown brusquely telling the male survivor that since a PCR van has no amenities, the delay in the police spotting them and hence, their getting medical help, is somewhat understandable. The investigating team also includes several station heads and sub-inspectors that make up the ensemble, alongside the Commissioner of Police and the Delhi Chief Minister, who have small roles as the season goes on.
On the whole though, Delhi Crime does a commendable job of showcasing the extremes of India's capital city — the worst and the best — from the heinous crimes committed by the six individuals to the police officers working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects, sacrificing their personal lives in the process.

Hard-hitting!
Delhi Crime is an Indian crime thriller web series by Netflix. It's story follows the aftermath of 2012 Delhi gang rape case. It isn't your everyday crime show where there is a crime committed and a super smart cop solves it within the time limit and is the hero at the end of the day. This is real , involving real people, real details without trivialization. Delhi Crime will hit you in your guts and will mess with your emotions. It goes into gore that makes you wish this was a fictional show. What is commendable about the show is apart from great acting, it is engaging. For a show which is not dramatized, it is a really good feat. Even for adults, this might be hard to watch, you will see the worst of humanity portrayed accurately.

Delhi Crime takes us back to the winter of 2012, a time marked with frustration, pain, and anger in Delhi against the system where the news of the brutal gang rape of 23 year-old Nirbhaya spread spread widely, domestically and internationally, solidifying Delhi’s reputation as the ‘rape capital’. The show will make you revisit the emotions – of anguish, pain and frustration. It is guaranteed to recreate the chill in your spine all of Delhi felt. While many documentries have covered the incident, Delhi Crime has not showcased the incident itself and leaves a lot to the emotion and memory of the viewer. It instead focuses on an an unexplored side of the story – the Delhi Police. While refreshing, it is also problematic. The main character of the show, DCP Vartika Chaturvedi is potrayed as a headstrong officer who would stop to no end to solve this brutal crime and bring justice to the victim and her family. A female character like Vartika is always a breath of fresh air and sends out the message of women empowerment but she never went against the gross statement that a reason for the rape to have happened must be because of getting physically affectionate with her male companion, implying that a woman has no agency and PDA is a valid reason to rape somene. The protesters have been shown as mere obstacles to the investigation, a prop for the show and not as genuine people concerned and angry about the safety of the city they live in. While the police do need not to be completely discounted for their efforts, Delhi Crime goes out of the way to valorise the police

Tear jerking
Remember that cold December evening when one of our sisters was brutally raped? Remember the days that passed after, with protests seeking revenge, seeking justice? I am sure we all do.
Delhi Crime provides us with the back story, shows us how the Delhi Police worked day and night to nab the culprits, how they relentlessly gave up everything else to bring them to justice. This December night has been etched very clearly in the minds of all Indians. We have all lived through the pain. Nirbhaya case is the incident that changed the country, that woke people up to the harshness of our reality.
Delhi Crime details out the entire incident; it does not leave out the gory, gruesome details, so don’t watch it if you are faint hearted. But, if you can, make this the first Indian series that you watch now. Brilliant acting from the actors will make sure that you feel the angst and the anger in your bones as you see it.

To prepare for the series, the actress spent a lot of time with the police officers and got an insight into how they work. This case has truly remarked the suppressed anger in me again. This kind of heinous act has left the people disheartened and has shaken their trusts with everyone and anyone on the streets. The series was exceptionally profound and appreciable, and to play roles in these kind of realistic issues is the most difficult part, to feel the same pain and emotions, it is indeed a wonderful act but saddening at the same time. And off course, due to the hardwork and bravery of the police, there is still a hope for this country, though there's a long way to go.
