Chef is the story of a head chef that quits his job at a restaurant to work at his won food truck while also balancing that with his family problems. I really loved this movie, it shows how food can bring people together and just be fun. I love how they balanced the food aspect of it with the lead characters family issues. I really loved the use of music here, there really good music choices and the switching from diegetic to non diegetic music is wonderful. And John Favearu directing and staring as the lead! Over all this is a wonderful movie that i really enjoyed.

Chef focuses on Jon Favreau, a comedic actor who is famous for directing sci-fi fantasies like Zathura and Iron Man. One day, he is suggested that he should make a movie called Cowboys vs. Aliens, based on a comic book less popular than Iron Man. The critics walk in to the cinema and don't like it at all. This is where Jon has really jumped the shark.

To make up for everything he had done, Jon decides to do a David Gordon Green and go independent. With the help of some friends that took part in his previous movies, he starts to make a new movie that suits his career more than anything else without any Hollywood big shots to tell him what to do. When he has finished it, he screens it in Texas, and then every other state in America, eventually leaving everyone impressed.

Chef is a movie about the difference between being pressured to do things by people who want more blockbusters and making movies by yourself. Give it a shot and see which side you want to be on.

A good sweet film by Jon Favreau who also plays the lead role of a professional chef. It is a light comedy drama. The story tells about a chef who after a public altercation with a food critic, quits his job at a popular resturant in Los Angeles. He returns back to his home town in Miami to fix up a food truck. He reconnects with his ex-wife and invites their young son to join him in driving the truck back to LA while selling cubanos in various cities along .

The story of a chef who rises from the ashes and proves his critics wrong. You could almost taste the melting cheese from the cuban sandwich, the cinematography was that good. I'm still trying to figure out why Scarlett Johansson was in the movie. On the whole Chef was one tasty ride.
