Best War movie from bollywood
The movie is based on the epic Battle happened near Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri led the small force containing a handful of soldiers (total 120) and took on some 2000 Pakistani opponents during the war. J.P. Dutta has presented that fight memorably in anauthentic and impressive manner.
Sunny Deol in the movie has played the role of Major Kuldeep Singh who has a small regiment of 120 odd army men to protect the Loungewala post with Captain Bhairon Singh (Sunil Shetty), Lieutenant Dharmveer (Akshay Khanna), Subedar Mathura Daas (Sudesh Berry) and some other co-actors. Near to the Loungewala post is the new airbase developing right from scratch. As wing commander i.e. Jackie Shroff comes to know about the Pakistani armies intentions he wants to help the army troops with his fighter planes but he is not able to do so because the planes available with them can not fly in the night. He is able to reach them and start bombarding the Pakistani tanks in the morning only. By that time, those 120 soldiers have to spend the deadly night, staring straight in the eyes of the death. And they do so with courage and during the fight several of them lay their lives for the cause of the motherland.
A must watch

Pratik Singh reviewed Border
The characters in the film really do shine, and bring out the best performances. The controversial topic of India-Pakistan is really highlighted in this film. The camera work is immaculate and the shooting in the backround of Rajasthan really is breathtaking. The music score by Anu Malik, is melodious and heart rendering. "Sandese Aate Hein" in time has become a patriotic anthem amongst many Indians. This alone implies the impact this film had on the Indian public, the brave sardars played by Sunny Deol and Puneet Issar highlights their love and the determination for India to defend itself against hostile enemies whoever they may be.
