"Appearances are often deceiving", said Aesop. Big Little Lies exploits the question of what and who's real. Though a slow burn, Big Little Lies takes you into twisty yet stunning coastlines of the Pacific into the town of Monterrey and into the lives of the top "mothers" of the town who aren't all that they appear to be. When you start watching the show, it may seem just like any other cliched melodramatic female rivalry but as the story progresses, it becomes so much more. A story wrapped in a murder mystery; it will keep you leaning towards the screen wondering about the murder. While the show may cover the most basic and well-worn themes, Big Little Lies is a show nothing like you've seen before, with it's tangled web of gossipy characters and mystery slowly unfurling as the show advances.
