Engaging!
Criminal Justice is an Indian web series by Hotstar. It follows the story of a cab driver who has a one night stand with a passenger and is later blamed for her murder. It is based on the BBC series of same name. It stars Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathi and Jackie Shroff in lead roles, all of them giving stellar performances. Their acting lifts the show and overcomes the little demerits the show has. The show is a perfect anecdote for crime thriller lover and fans of the genre. Often, Indian adaptations of foreign shows are let down by writing and Criminal Justice too, suffers from that but not too much. It is decent enough to hold your interest through the entirety of the show.

Scope of improvement
Criminal Justice is the Indian version of the series Criminal justice by Peter Mofatt. The Indian version is adapted by Shridhar Raghavan. The series revolve around proving “Aditya” played by Vikrat Massey innocence is a murder case. The main idea behind the series is good, it has enough potential to keep its viewers hook yet the series seem to drag in most of the episodes.
The episodes have certain loose ends which makes the audience confused at the complexity of the story. The acting was good, since they had experienced cast, yet there are lot of ways this series could have filmed betetr. It’s sometimes fast paced for example the last 2 episodes and lagged in the middle of the series.
Apart from all the technical aspects of the film, this series tends to show how the police work even though it was dramatized but it somehow gave us a gist about the working of police force, investigation processes and the way they deal with the suspects. The media is also shown in a way absurd and upto what extent it can go to misrepresent certain facts and mislead the people.
Scope of improvement but doesn’t disappoint.

Murder Mystery Gives you Kick?
Then this ones for you pal...
Criminal Justice is a multi-layered story that not only follows the story of the lead i.e. Vikrant Massey’s Aditya, but also explores various subplots, giving depth and life to the plot.
Three characters hold the show together with their spectacular performances: Vikrant Massey’s Aditya, Pankaj Tripathi’s Madhav Mishra, and Jackie Shroff’s Mustafa. Vikrant transforms his innocent, boy-next-door character into a toughed up, exhausted man- result of the prison environment.
Aditya is driving his father’s cab one night, as a favor to his sister, when he picks up a customer, Sanaya, who will change his life forever. Some heated arguments and an apology later, Aditya finds himself in Sanaya’s home, and one thing leads to another, and he spends the night in her bed; only to wake up to find her stabbed to death. He is accused of her murder, but he can’t remember anything. Is he guilty or as innocent as he claims to be?
Criminal Justice is a police procedural drama that touches upon various topics such as police brutality and politics, coercion, manipulation, media sensationalism, the whole new world of prison, and the issues a convict’s or accused person’s family has to face.
The dark, dingy cinematography throughout the series perfectly matches the mood of the plot.

'Criminal Justice'plays out the crime investigation, courtroom intrigue and prison horror in bouts of brilliantly written scenes by Shridhar Raghavan. Criminal justice tells us about the subverted judicial system is far more relevant than the 'thriller' intentions that plat out on the surface of this edge-of-the-seat crime drama.
While every actor is in-sync with the dark gripping mood of a crime that is not as simple as it seems, no one gets it better than Pankaj Tripathi. He plays a sleazy low-down lawyer slimming it out at police station pimping for desperate clients, Pankaj brings to his character a mortal centre in spite of his seeming dissipation. Its good to have Jackie Shroff in this series and he seems to enjoy the character which is very much in his 'beedu' style.
The series, after Aditya(Vikrant Massey) is jailed, is divided into two distinct parts. In one we follow the criminal trail of the incident and the other half follows Aditya's journey in jail and how he transforms completely.
The best part of the show is it's intriguing and completely congruent with the style and tone of a crime series. The series also finds substantial support which increases tention and soothes inwqual part.
