It's a remake of Kramer Vs. Kramer with a different ending. That said, and some scenes were lifted straight from the Dustin Hoffman/Meryl Streep classic film, this is a decent adaptation.

I liked the change to their careers being in the entertainment industry. Both Aamir and Manisha Koirala acted quite well, even if they're no Streep and Hoffman. The kid was adorable, too.

One gets the feeling that the controversy in the Kramer vs Kramer film with a woman abandoning her child and husband because she is so unhappy, which was somewhat shocking in 1979 US, still had the same impact in 1995 in India. But there had to be a happy ending since it is Bollywood, not the nuanced ending of Kramer vs. Kramer.

I have to say, I love seeing Aamir Khan play a father. Much of the movie is Aamir interacting with the young child, and it was wonderful to watch.
