Conan and Ran accompany Kogoro to the mansion of a client, soft-serve ice cream maker Morikawa Yuzan. Yuzan has cancer and not long left to live and asks Kogoro to evaluate his three potential heirs. His third son Morikawa Yuzaburo is found dead inside a locked room. Furthermore, his second son Morikawa Yujiro, who had been missing since the previous day, is found dead inside the soft serve tank. His eldest son Morikawa Yuichiro breaks down, saying he's next, and locks himself inside his room.

Conan and the Detective Boys are hanging out at Professor Agasa's house watching "Softie Sadao and Scaredy-cat Toshiko Visit Haunted Locations" paranormal videos on a streaming site. Conan and Haibara accompany the other three to an abandoned hospital so they can film their own ghost video at a haunted location. They begin filming as they head towards the locked room on the third floor said to be inhabited by a ghost. Apparently there are a variety of spooky rumors regarding this location...

Conan, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, Genta, and Haibara are on the bus with Kobayashi-sensei and Wakasa-sensei to Hatoyama Ranch to collect the new chickens they'll be caring for at school. Also on the bus are Hitsuka Junya, Nanbu Takashi, and Kano Shogo, who are headed to the same ranch. They are apparently going there to gather information and conduct research. There's trouble on the bus, but Amuro saves the day. Amuro seems to have business at the ranch as well...

Conan and his companions head to a ranch to pick up some chickens for their grade school and get dragged into a dangerous situation. A man claiming to be the ranch owner's younger brother takes Ayumi hostage and locks Conan, Amuro, Mitsuhiko, and Kobayashi in the basement beneath the office. There they find the body of the ranch owner and Kazami Yuya. Conan successfully gets in touch with Haibara and the others above ground, but... Conan and Kogoro meet a manager of an accounting firm at the hospital who's been told he has six months left to live. Also with him are his wife and secretary, and it seems as though he plans to make the most of his remaining time. However, several days later, he's found murdered in his home. That morning, his wife and secretary went out to run an errand at his request. When they returned that evening, they found him dead in the bathroom. Just then, the man's friend comes running in.

Conan and Kogoro see a news story on TV about the disappearance of traffic accident victim Butsumaru Daijiro. Mori Fusae, the woman who witnessed the accident, handed over Butsumaru's driver's license to the police, but Inukai Hajime, the man who caused the accident, vanished after saying he would take Butsumaru to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Mori Detective Agency receives a phone call from Butsumaru's wife Emiko, who hires Kogoro to find her husband and bring him back safe...

Conan hears two women scream while on the way to the park with Genta and Mitsuhiko. They go to the house where they heard the screams, where they see Hirasawa Kaori and Hirasawa Seiko, who have fallen down some stairs. From their conversation with Hirasawa Ryoji, who arrives shortly afterwards, they learn the women are his wife and mother-in-law, and he is the family's son-in-law. It seems as though all they do is cause trouble for Ryoji. Later, Conan and his friends see Ryoji struggling near

Kogoro spots Inspector Megure walking in front of Cafe Poirot. He congratulates the police on recently solving a case in record time, but apparently they arrested the wrong man. Conan meets up with them and Inspector Megure explains the case to them. A man was found dead in his home. At the crime scene were a rope and metal pipe, and the police believe the culprit entered by opening a hole in a glass window, knocked the victim unconscious with the metal pipe, and then strangled him to death. Okino Yoko comes to the Mori Detective Agency to ask him to solve a murder that happened at a villa. Several days earlier, Yoko headed to a villa where a Nichiuri TV producer's sister went missing after she got married to scout the location. His sister's husband and brother- and sister-in-law were there as well. But the night they decided to stay at the villa... The people present at the villa during the case had all kinds of relationships with the woman who went missing two years ago, giving all of them possible motives for killing the murder victim in the case. While attempting to solve the case based on things Yoko found strange, Conan receives a message from Kogoro, who is in the bathroom...?

While Instructor Onizuka is reprimanding his police cadets, Morofushi spots the missing person report for a young girl who went missing the previous night. His friends ask him why he's so interested in the girl, but simply explains that she looks similar to a girl he used to play with as a child and refuses to elaborate. With coaxing from his friends, Morofushi eventually opens up and begins telling them about the murders he witnessed as a child...

The Detective Boys discover an abandoned car by the river. Though they're interested in the car, they quickly head off to play because rain is forecasted for that evening. While playing soccer, Genta nearly runs into a nearby woman. She was speaking into a voice recorder, but their near collision leads to her playing soccer with the kids. After a while, they begin hearing thunder, so they leave behind the woman who seems to be waiting for someone. The next morning, Conan sees a certain story on

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro arrive at a chicken egg factory. Kogoro is asked to investigate what's causing the strange things that have been happening to chicken sexer Nanba over the past few weeks and act as his bodyguard. They question the factory employees, but nobody can think of anyone who would want to harm him. However, one of his colleagues seems to have reservations about him. A woman named Nishiwaki Kae arrives at the Mori Detective Agency where Conan and Kogoro are. She explains that someone has been breaking into her apartment while she's at work and asks Kogoro for help. The intruder, who began breaking in a month ago, apparently is not a thief, but leaves gifts for her. The three of them head to her apartment and discover a suitcase with a ribbon on it in the entryway. Believing it is a new gift from the intruder, Kogoro opens the suitcase and finds a dead body

Conan and Kogoro are attending a wedding. Kogoro met the groom's father at a bar where he's a regular and ended up receiving an invitation. Also attending the wedding are staff including the wedding planner and priest, as well as the couple's friends. The ceremony begins, and just as the bride enters the chapel, she begins choking and loses consciousness. Upon seeing her pain, the people in attendance say ominous things such as "she got what she deserved" and "this wedding was cursed."

Conan and Kogoro pass by a dreary shopping center. They attempt to purchase some things at a vegetable shop, but the owner, Yamazaki, seems listless. Just then, Madam Gaga, a producer who revitalizes run down shopping centers, and her assistant Rabbit Suzuki show up. Madam Gaga announces that a pro wrestling event will be held to revitalize the shopping center. The shop owners engage in various forms of exercise to train, and Kogoro agrees to participate in the event as a referee, but...

Conan, Haibara, Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko arrive at a takeout pizza restaurant. They participate in the store's campaign to guess the weight of a ball of pizza dough, and thanks to Genta, they win a free pizza. After splitting the pizza into fifths and placing their slices inside special boxes, they head home. On their way, all of them have their pizza stolen by someone. When the kids meet back up, each one has a torn pizza box. Conan and Mitsuhiko realize based on the damage that the culprit
