I was really looking forward to the movie when the trailer came around, which though predictable did seem a little enticing. When my boyfriend and I were settling on a light movie on a Sunday morning, Befikre seemed like a good choice, but boy did we regret it.
I was aware of the 'graphic' nature of the movie but I was not expecting the movie to start with it - an abundance of strangers kissing. The whole shifting between the past and present is a drag and the movie bores in the first half. Ranveer SIngh's potrayal of Dharam is spot on, even though Vani's Shyra thoroughly dissapoints.
In a romcom, characters can afford to be smudgy. But the fact that the successful standup here can't come up with a single gag worthy of a smirk is worrying. It is definitely not like other Aditya Chopra films and even for a one-time watch it is an absolute waste.
The songs are situational, but do nothing without the visuals.
