A Classic Tale Redefined at the best.
After hearing the title, you might think about the 1976 classical love story. You're right, but this time that same old tale has been told in a very fresh setting. Unexpected love, family barriers, but freshness in its narrative makes it truly original.

Plot:
The plot is very predictable. A boy and a Girl fall in love, their familiesare against this love, they are being separated, and all romance. Its all the same.
The screenplay is quite fresh and engrossing. It'll keeped you hooked to the plot. The narrative is good.

Acting:
Avinash tripathi steals your heart. He is just the talent bollywood deserves. It might have been a tough role for him, but he nailed it perfectly. Majnu's romance, his heartbreak, his madness, he nails each and every aspect of his character.
Tripti was also good. Her role wasn't that challanging, but she did justice to her part. rest of the cast did a decent job.

Music:
It is the TSP of this film. All the songs ofthis film are melodious. O meri Laila might have become one of my favourites. Aahista was also good. All the songs did justice to the screenplay.

Cinematography:
Sayak hattacharya has perfectly nailed the cinematography of this film. The wide valleys of Kashmir, the lakes, all looked so enchanting. Hats off to this man.

Verdict:
If you are in need of a romantic plot which actually does some justice to its theme, then this is the perfect watch for you.

Admirable, but not enjoyable
This film didn't generate much buzz when it was announced. Although the book by Sanjaya Baru did. The trailer did generate a sort of controversy, which might have added to the buzz.

Plotline & Screenplay:
This film takes on the life of dr. Manmohan Singh, who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014, and the internal politics to which he fell prey of.
The trailer made the story very clear. It was just that the people were excited to watch the inside of PMO.
The screenplay was good, but it lacked taste. It made the film serious. The film was more of a documentry, presented through the eyes of Sanjaya baru, who served as the Media Advisor to the PM. Though there was some humour between the film, but i'm pretty sure that those who favour masala will surely dislike this film.

Acting:
Anupam Kher lives his character throughout the film. He is just the right Dr. Manmohan Singh. You'll always feel that he is not Anupam Kher. You'll never realise that. His voice modulation, his walking style, his expressions, are all just the same.
Akshaye Khanna did a great job. We all know how fine an actor he is, and he never fails to prove that. He also broke the fourth wall and talked to the audiences in between.

Direction & Music:
Debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte did a great job. His direction was really good. He never made the film deflect from the track.
Talking about the music, there are no songs in the film. But the background music keeps you glued to the screen.

Verdict:
If you are a drama admirer, go atch this film. You'll surely love it.

This Yash starrer is a must watch.
KGF:Chapter 1 is a Kannada action film starring Yash, Srinidi Shetty and others.

When I heard about this movie, I thought it's a complete sillyness to have it clash with Srk's Zero. But I am completely wrong(I am not criticising Zero since I haven't seen it yet). This film has all the elements of a classic action movie- style, drama, action, music. It's a complete action packed entertainer that you'll definitely love.

Plotline & Screenplay:
The plot tells the story of a goon who wants to become the most powerful man. His ambitions take him to his destiny where much bloodier things await him: Kolar Gold Fields.
The screenplay is that of a non-linear narrative. It jumps back and forth between 1981 & 2018, narrating the story of Yash' character, Rocky. It is quite fast-paced, the scene does not remain for long. The first half was comparitively much more faster than the second one. You'll never know how the time passes. Sometimes it might become a bit hard to keep pace with the scene, but if "you are" watching the film, it'll be fine. There were a lot of characters introduced in the first half, and you might get confused in that. Maybe that's because of the editing. It could have been a bit steady.

Acting:
Yash delivers a performance of the lifetime. He has done an impeccable job. You can't just take off your eyes off him when he is on the screen. He is charming, attractive, stylish. He perfectly delivers his emotions in every scene. Rest of the cast did a good job, but I think they weren't given that much of prominence. They might not look menacing, but the screenplay make them look so.

Music & Direction:
The music of the film is good. I liked the songs. The bgm is one of the X-factors of the film. it is enough to give you goosebumps. Salaam Rocky Bhai introduces us to Rocky and his menace. Gali Gali song was also good.
Prashant Neel has done a great job in directing the film. His writing too is excellent. Hats off to his efforts.

Verdict:
Go watch this film, and you'll come out of the theatre with an anticipation for its sequel.

Best scene:
[Minor Spoiler]
When Rocky stops the traffic for a mother with a child who is desparate for a bun.

The best of the thriller.
Recent years have been quite profitable for the South Indian movies. Examples are Baahubali, Eega, Enthiran, 2.0, and many more. But there have been some underrated films that might have not got the right marketing, but had a terrific word of mouth. Ratsasan is one such kind of movie. It's a psychological thriller directed by Ramkumar, and stars Vishnu Vishal, Amala Paul and others.

Plotline and Screenplay:
The plot starts off with a murder. [You might consider this to be a spoiler, but it sets the right tone for the film] Later, the cops identify that they are dealing with a psycho-killer. The rests of the turns forms the rest of the plot.

The tone of the film is dark and disturbing. But the film features no such elements which might make the film A-rated. Some elements might be disturbing, but it doesn't affect much. The writing and screenplay of the film is very interesting, and gripping. You can't just loose your mind even for a second. That is the reason why the film is a gem. I thought that Gone Girl was the best psychological thriller I've ever seen. But this film makes me think again. Hats off to Ramkumar. Laudable Efforts!

Acting:
All the cast did a good job. Vishnu Vishal was convincing in his cop role. Amala Paul was also good. But Saravanan steals the main show.[ I wouldn't talk about his character, since it is a spoiler. Those who've watched the film will agree to my point]Rest of the cast did a good job.

Music:
It is one of those X-factors of the film that make it interesting. The songs were good.[ Though I don't know Tamil, but the tunes were soulful. I don't listen the song by reading the subtitles. LOL]. The Bgm is the X-factor that makes each and every scene gripping. It's the best combination I've ever seen of both writing and background scores.

Direction:
Along with the writing, music, scores, direction is one of those other factors that makes the film absorbing. Ramkumar did a perfect job. Really, he handles each and every aspect perfectly.

Verdict:
Watch this film with all senses open, otherwise you might miss the entrallness of the film. You'll get absorbed in the film right from the first moment. Hands down to the best psychological thriller I've ever encountered. Really. It's true to say that Regional cinema might now be rising up from the logicless action, or masala elements. The best sleeping thriller of the year.
