There are wonderful answers(reviews) written on HY already.

I am a big admirer of TVF. They have successfully and consistently churned out content which has connected with me as an audience.

Welcome to Humorously Yours, the life and times of Vipul Goyal; a stand-up comic who is on the brink of stardom. We see how his real life becomes immensely interesting material for him to perform onstage; the ups and downs of his relationship with his wife Kavya (played by Rasika Dugal); who happens to be the partner with a more stable income and job in the family. His friend Bhushi (played by Abhishek Banerjee) tags along with him; providing a cynical yet amusing take on his life.

This story is simple. What makes it effective is the way in which it is woven in real emotions, first on paper by Anandeshwar Dwivedi & Anant Singh (writers) and later on camera by Amit Golani (Director).

Its a pattern that TVF has followed. They start with a Bang. Ep 1, Ep 2 and Ep 3 are awesome with special appearances by a herd of Comic stars. Ep 4 was light, though I didnt enjoy much but it was good fun to watch 3 guys stoned. The best ep has to be Ep.5 (the finale).

I love Ep.5 for lots of things :

Kannan Gils act in a single scene. He is awesome and what he does for finale is more better.
Rasika mams brilliant advice.
Chairman Uncles and other society uncles roles.
Vipuls determination in preparation
Bushi`s quirky discussions with society elders.
At the end you are left with questions like,
- What was the joke Vipul shared with Chairman uncle?
- Did Vipul get a Parking Slot?

A wonderful series which can be watched again and again.

I’d forgive people for giving up on Inside Edge after its first two episodes. Despite not being boring, it feels like the kind of show devised by MBA’s rather than creative writers, with superfluous scenes ostensibly devised only to elicit sharp reactions from viewers. Subtlety is far from the show’s strong suit, with overt references leaving no doubt as to which real-life personalities the characters are supposedly embodying (never more apparent than when the bad boy of Indian cricket walks out wearing the #18 jersey).

However, if you (like me) are a big cricket fan, and you stick with the show past the first couple of episodes, some genuinely smart writing does come to the fore. Each character has a credible, unique personality and voice, and is provided with a well-designed personal arc. These arcs dovetail into the broader narrative cohesively, and make for an enjoyable viewing experience. The writers also deserve credit for their meticulous planning and research, with many real-world events blending naturally into the story and almost every episode ending on a cliffhanger which makes you immediately want to jump to the next one.

The series assembles a good ensemble cast who fit into their roles well.

Angad Bedi justifies his lineage by demonstrating what is perhaps the most classical and authentic batting technique in TV history. He’s comfortable in the off-field scenes too, and renders respectability to the role of stoic captain Arvind Vashisth. He shares a good partnership with an in-form Sanjay Suri.
Despite not having many scenes, Aahana Kumra makes a mark with a powerful, unbridled performance as Arvind’s estranged alcoholic wife Shahana.
What Tanuj Virwani lacks in facial-expression range, he makes up in flamboyance. His lost-boy looks make Vayu Raghavan a compelling character, and his on/off relationship with my fellow Oman-representative Sarah Jane Dias offer some refreshingly sweet scenes (especially the one over filter-coffee).
The most memorable character on the show is the foul-mouthed, venal Devender Mishra, portrayed brilliantly by Amit Sial. His bawdiness has surely contributed a phrase or two to the colorful lexicon of Hindi abuses.
Surprisingly, it is Inside Edge’s stars that deliver under-par performances. Vivek Oberoi hams throughout as the cartoonish, all-controlling, all-knowing businessman Vikrant Dhawan (a.k.a. Hindu Grey). He is unbearable in practically every scene. And even if one gives Richa Chadda the benefit of doubt for her inability to enunciate English lines, she still deserves flak for a largely insipid performance.
Ultimately, Inside Edge is a show I had a lot of fun binge-watching. It keeps you hooked throughout, delivering many a cheap thrill along the way, and offers a standard of storytelling that’s a notch above what we’re accustomed to with the mainstream offerings in India.

I've been following The Viral Fever (TVF) since last one year. I have watched all and rewatched many of their videos and eagerly wait for new content every week.
Recently they announced their first TVF originals drama feature, "Permanent Roommates", and I was hooked by the name itself.
The promo looked good too.

The show starts off well, with Mikesh who comes back to India and proposes to his long distance girlfriend Tanya for marriage. This begins their emotional journey that even threatens their relationship at one point in the show.
This show does well in all areas of creativity and execution and one can't help but fall in love with the lead actors, and relate to their emotional journey. Especially the adorable simpleton Mikesh who also, along with supporting actors (especially Pathik and Purshottam) fill up this emotional journey with well timed humor that makes this show a delight to watch. Moreover this show is about Mikesh and Tanya and their relationship, no unnecessary hurdles by parents, caste, religion, society or similar sources.

While the length of the episodes range from 14 minutes (first episode) to 38 minutes (final episode), I'm glad they didn't restrict themselves to have uniform length episodes which may have forced them to compromise on the quality.

Did you notice the two rings interlocked into each other in the word "room" in the title?! That's pretty cool !! The opening sequence of this show is also quite good !!

There are just too many emotional and well timed comic moments that it would be unfair to talk about them here. Moreover, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and this pudding is an absolute delicacy. I am no authority in show business, but being a lifelong ardent viewer of sitcoms and romcoms, I can vouch for Permanent Roommates as one such show you can re-watch and experience the same delight and warmness.

Strong points: The lead actors, the supporting actors, the direction, the script, the comic timing, the music, and leaving me wanting for more.
Weak points: Only 5 episodes!
Best moment: The video Nikesh makes for Tanya's birthday. There are many more though.

It does leave few questions in audience's mind, like will Mikesh and Tanya get married, and who is Tiwari?!

While I wish this show had come earlier, this is the best time for the inception of such a wonderful show, since TVF now has nearly a million followers on youtube, and such wonderful shows that they've promised to continue making in future, deserve large audience.

After watching Permanent Roommates, I am fully confident that TVF, who have given us top quality humor in the past, are well on their way to excel in other genres as well.

P.S. - Ended up watching all the 5 episodes again while writing this review. :) :)

Biswa Kalyan Rath's 'Laakhon Mein Ek' is a strong attempt at creating a dark world that suffocates teenagers with their parents' ambitions. Otherwise known, for his stand-up comedy, Biswa shows that he has much more to offer as an artist through this 6-episode web series. The show stars Ritvik Sahore in the title role.
Ours is a society that discriminates on the basis of one’s social and economic class and even though it is not a desirable factor for any progressing society, such is the way we function. In the context of Indian society, one’s social standing is also determined by the institute their kids study in and that is where the monster of IIT steps in.

Biswa Kalyan Rath’s ‘Lakhon Mein Ek’ on Amazon Prime Video is a dark commentary on the life of a student whose ambitions are not academic but the family pressure to get into IIT gets to him. The story of the series is around a teenage boy Akash (Ritvik Sahore) from Raipur who is a rather mediocre student. He has no aptitude for science but is under immense pressure from his parents to get into IIT. Every condescending statement his father utters reeks of his dreams for his son to get into IIT. And Akash has no option but to follow his ways. This leads him to a coaching center in Vishakhapatnam where he is thrown into a class where the teachers don’t want to teach and students get by with cheating in the exams. Akash tries to hold his head up high for a while but soon gives in to the ways of his friends.

His friends, Bakri (Jay Thakkar) and Chudail (Alam Khan), are the only ones he can connect with and the boys try to survive by striking deals with the peons. Akash isn’t a lazy bum. He genuinely tries to cram his study material but we soon figure out that this world of hard-core academics is not meant for him. Biswa Kalyan Rath plays the Section A teacher here, who teaches the smart kids and Akash fools himself into believing that with good teachers on his side, he will actually understand the concepts but all of this is in vain. At some point, one feels that Biswa’s character could be the one that saves Akash. We want him to have a moment with the boy but that would have made the drama a little too filmy.

The show paints a dark picture of the student life in a hostel where kids are treated like prisoners and are openly discriminated on the basis of their academic excellence. We’re faintly reminded of Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Udaan’ but those impressions leave as the show progresses. The must watch material!!!!

Prachi Ray reviewed Rise
When life closes one door, it opens a window of opportunity.
We go through the motions of life, living one day after the next in quite a haze. After all, when there are deadlines, monthly targets and our appraisals on the line, we wince and let our long-repressed passions stay further repressed.

But what about those ambitions that just wouldn't want to burn out?

Just when we learn to compromise and bury those aspirations as foolhardy or even childish, life finds a way to put us back on the right path. Ultra Shorts' new web series "Rise" featuring the super talented Vikrant Massey is a wonderful exploration of the mysterious ways life works its magic.

A story of a well-settled software engineer at a reputed firm, we see Massey's character, Shrey live out the quintessential work woes to come fractionally close to his dream of living the biker's life. Despite his hard work, he is unceremoniously fired and made to question all that he believes he has achieved. Right when he begins to cower back into despondency, life sends him on a soul-searching road trip with his friend's 55-year-old relative, the most unlikely pillion ever. How they bond despite the ideological differences, break out of their instilled mould and become free in the purest sense of the word sums up the tale.

This only goes on to prove that destiny will prevail when we lose our way.

Script: Written by Sumeet Vyas is a perfect one without any loophole and extra Bollywood Masala.! Just watch the Episodes to know more about it as I can't explain it in words.!

Acting: Awesome performance by Amol Parashar aka Chitvan in the role of Chilled CareFree Younger Brother.! Manvi Gagroo plays Chanchal and she is perfect in her Rajasthani Look and did justice with it.! Chandan played by Sumeet Vyas is perfect simily for Eldest Brother and did a great job here.!

Dialogus are great and delivery is perfect by each and everyone.!

Small Characters like Building Watchmen, Police Commissioner, Garage Owner, Polo Marco and Others just create this Awesome series a grand hit.!

Love is more attractive when it is larger-than-life.

High stakes, dramatic passions, fierce opposition, impossible hurdles; it is easier to fall for the idea of love when it is played out on a larger canvas.

But what about everyday love? You know, the romance which plods along exhaustedly after a long day at work. Or the kind that wonders whether a night about town is really better than just lazing in bed with your partner and Netflix? (It’s not, if you were wondering.)
The couple’s chemistry is easily the highlight of the series. They've acted in a series of short videos for Filter Copy and Dice Media before, and the level of comfort between the two is apparent. More importantly, the audience knows and accepts them as a couple (most famously in the YouTube video titled ‘Honest Valentine Day.’)
Dice Media’s ‘Little Things’ is a refreshing love story, in that it consciously decides to focus on the beauty of a couple’s everyday routine.

Prachi Ray reviewed Narcos
Of all the original Netflix programming i've watched so far, Narcos, though extremely binge-worthy, ranks somewhere in the bottom. But that's only because netflix tends to outdo itself with every new show. Narcos is beautiful to see, and has a very interesting story to tell, but with very poorly sculpted characters.

Here's what worked for me: The brilliant setting in Colombia and the authentic feel to the whole scene with the Spanish littered with english. Oh, and Pedro Pascal. I'm tempted to throw in a picture, but that can be distracting, so i'll hold off.

And here's the main reason why i think this show isn't as powerful as it could have been: The DEA agent's character, who narrates most of the story, is very Lacklustre. You don't believe him when he comes in like a Patriot to Colombia, as cavalry in the War against drugs, and you don't believe him when he claims to be tired of it all in the end.

Pedro Pascal's character, the DEA agents wife and many other actors are all characters that are there, but not there. Yes Pablo Escobar is portrayed brilliantly, but without a counterweight yang, there's just too much yin in this show.

PS: I'm going to re-watch this if i ever have to learn Spanish.

STRANGER THINGS 2 seasons were just like 2 seconds, now I’m not sure what to do, feeling the arrival of the end of life. That’s how interesting it is. 9 out of 10 by IMDb and 94% by rotten tomatoes, no presence of ghost but enough thrilling.

So the synopsis is this thrilling Netflix original drama stars Golden Globe-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 -- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.

That was about the season one, well the first season is strange and the second season is more stranger. The series is directed pretty well that you sink in the story. The plot moves so smoothly and the story accelerates with different things happening at different places at the same time and screen play happens in parallel.

So these kids play their routine games late in the evening, on their trip back home, Will Byers goes missing, that’s how the story begins and ends with the upside down theory which means the existence of an other dimension.

And this girl with supernatural powers stands as the backbone to the story, as she opens this gate to the other dimensions which creates chaos in Hawkins town, which she doesn’t do intentionally in an experiment conducted on her by the government, who are back guys here.

The second season is what makes the whole Stranger Things interesting, after saving Will, who was stuck in the other dimension, he becomes the host for the virus in season 2

and this virus uses Will to dominate the planet, by spreading roots in the underground. There’s only Hopper, Will’s mother, his friends and a few others, on whom the responsibility lies, to destroy the virus before it spreads.

The best part of Stranger Things is the cast and their top class acting, all the actors have done well, that’s why the show is interesting enough to watch without break. Every bit of the show is perfectly planned and executed, the cinematography, music, fabulous editing and not forgetting those mind blowing special effects. Duffer Brothers, who created this web series, hats off!!!

A must watch for those who like fiction and not forgetting the horror lovers. And season 3 is expected.
