Dobi reviewed Poison
A crime thriller starring Tanuj Virwani, Freddy Daruwala, Arbaaz Khan, Riya Sen and others, it is as predictable, cliched as a plot can get. Ranveer (portrayed by Virwani) is out of jail after serving his prison sentence of 7 years. He settles in Goa, buying a bar and befriending the 'powerful people' of the land. Watch it if you really want to. Nothing new, very banal and hackneyed.

Veer aka the grieving widower and Samira aka the 'clingy ex' are the two main characters of the show which depicts Veer suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder who gets into relationships only for physical comfort, still reeling from the loss of his wife and Samira, who was 'dumped' by her boyfriend almost erratically after almost five years. They find solace in the company of each other and the the story becomes quite obvious and predictable as it progresses. Starring Vikrant Massey as Veer and Harleen Sethi as Samira, the performances are good though. However, overall it shows a huge lack of a seamless, well thought out plot.

Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Jackie Shroff and other big names, this is one of those shows that make you watch them just because of some brilliant performances. Pankaj Tripathi is one the finest actors that our generation has seen. His acting just makes you wonder whether any other actor could have played the role this well. Shroff is good too but Massey isn't half as good as he was in some movies that we saw in the past few years. Overall, a nice Sunday binge watch.

Dobi reviewed City of Dreams
Revolving around the huge political ambitions of the Gaikwad family in the city of Mumbai, with politicians setting their eyes on the coveted seat of 'Dilli', this is a often heard description of the political developments in the badlands of U.P. and Bihar. The change of setting this time acts as a refreshing breeze in the stereotypical drought of the political crime genre, except Sacred Games which was of course brilliant. This show, however, struggles to keep it free of the common banalities that seem to prop up quite often. Overall, a typical political-crime drama. Skip it if you have watched too much of this genre, however, watchable for the enthusiasts.

Dobi reviewed Mom & Co.
Starring Neelima Azeem as 'Aai' and Ayush Mehra as the son, the story of these characters explores the subtleties of mom-son relationships in general. Given that the son is sacked from his job and faces difficulties with the new one, he decides to call it quits after all. Starting on a new venture with his mum, they together, as partners, open up 'Aai's Kitchen'. The performances are good. Overall, a nice, sweet storyline with good acting.

Dobi reviewed Baarish
Typical Balaji show to be honest. Starring Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi in lead roles, this is a quintessential cheesy romantic, family dramas that Ekta Kapoor is known for. Quite surprisingly and thank god (pun intended), this did not have snakes, witches and sorcery. Watch it if you're into this genre.

Dobi reviewed Adulting
Two young girls struggle with their varied yet difficult (read usual) life experiences in the city of Mumbai. They, as obvious as the title can get, are struggling in becoming adults and coping with their lives as best as they can. The pressure to earn a good living, make your life 'worthwhile' is something that both of these harbour even though one is straight up crazier than the other one. Overall, quite an average series.

Dobi reviewed Mirzapur
In a lawless land where anything, anyone can be made to do several things grotesque by way of the gripping, tentacled and wretched power, 'Mirzapur' portrays to you the gang wars typical to it, unnerving you with violence, weapons and illicit gang wars. With a rich star cast, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi and Rasika Dugal , this show lives up to their names. A near realistic portrayal when it comes to the small Indian towns riddled with crime and gory, it has been fantastically made.

Dobi reviewed ImMATURE
A nicely made show with a cute and humorous plot line, this is more than your quintessential teen story that offers you with sweet reminiscences of your own fragile, crazy and amazing teen years. Plus, the makers prevented the script from going haywires by restricting the content to just five episodes of around 25 minutes each. A helluva relatable show that's studded with innocent chuckles and delightful frames.

Dobi reviewed The Reunion
Starring Sapna Pabbi, Anuj Sachdeva, Shreya Dhanwantary and Veer Rajwant Singh, 'The Reunion' is the story of these four school friends, who, on no longer remaining in each others' touch, plan their class reunion after about 10 years. These friends, from the not-so-glitzy fashion designer to the self-acclaimed stand-up comedian, make this an interesting watch. It reeks of subtleties of life, encompassing how the going gets tough after the high school. It definitely strikes a chord with the audience. There's nothing new though. A watchable web series directed by Karishma Kohli.
