Written by Jasdeep ‘Sardarboy’ Singh and Prakriti Kargeti, ‘Engineering Girls’ is a fresh take on the engineering hostel experience. Featuring three of the most popular young online talents, Barkha Singh, Sejal Kumar and Kritika Avasthi, the show follows the misadventures of three women who want to leave a mark on the world, despite the odds. Through five episodes, the trio chases their dreams of finding love & starting their own company, while being a part of the drama club and trying to submit their practical files on time.
The Timeliners’ tie-up with Sharada University will be something that will encourage the students to watch the series as well.
The only negative factor about this series is that it has left us asking for more episodes, as soon as possible.
This 5-episode series will definitely leave not just the girls, but also all the boys to relive their own college days and take everyone on a trip to the land of nostalgia.

Dustbin reviewed Adulting
Adulting is like a breath of fresh air that manages to diffuse the suffocating air of sex, crime and gore, permeating the web scene. It portrays the sweet world of two wet-behind-the-ears girls, Nikhat and Ray, who have just stepped out of their cocooned existence, to find their place under the sun in big, bad Mumbai. Nikhat and Ray are best friends, confidantes, and yes, flatmates in Mumbai.
Adulting is all about their attempts at transitioning into responsible, earning adults, away from the safe haven of home and parental support. Aisha Ahmed, is absolutely fabulous as Nikhat, rendering her role with an innocent charm, young-adult chutzpah and alluring vulnerability. Yashaswini Dayama, as Ray, simply steals our hearts away with her defining act. Cute as a button, she carries her emotions on her sleeve, as also her face, for all to see. Her singularly unique dialogue delivery, adorable performance, elfin charm– in fact everything about her– has us hooked. An impending visit by Nikhat’s mom leads to a cleaning spree, hiding of ashtrays and liquor bottles out of sight, and the like. Nosy neighbours, a boorish boss, even internet trolls– the bane of social media– all make interesting appearances in the series.
All five episodes are peppered with similarly glittering nuggets of astute profundity.
The series brims with profound moments, coaxing us to ponder on the vagaries of life
[Adulting ingratiates itself into our hearts and gets under our skin with consummate dexterity. In the Pinterest-pressured, Instagram-influenced world of today, Adulting is one web series that is guaranteed to bring a smile on your face, even when you are in the grouchiest of moods. It makes you feel all the feels and is an instant perk-me-up when you are down in the dumps. It warms the cockles of your heart, whatever cocklessupposedly are.

Dustbin reviewed Ghoul
The title of the show is in reference to a devil-like figure that can be called upon by trading one’s soul. Ghoul reminds one of their deadliest sins and makes them face their guilt and the end is never pleasant. Ghoul is set during an Orwellian time. The Indian society has changed drastically and the line between loving one’s country and following the government’s order has disappear.Student leaders, opposition leaders or anyone who questions rules are taken in until they start nodding their head in agreement with the establishment. If they don’t agree, they don’t survive.Amid all of this, we meet our central character Nida Rahim (Radhika Apte) who desperately seeks social approval. She considers her religion a crutch and to prove her loyalty for her country, she won’t hesitate in geting her father arrested.Nida is posted at Meghdoot 31, the covert detention center where the story of Ghoul plays out. The detention center has a mysterious energy, the kind that makes the hair at the back of your neck stand up. This is where the drama gets spooky. Nida’s colleagues are used to nightmares.
Ghoul is a horror drama but the show tackles social change vis a vis religion in an effective and dramatic way. We see Apte’s Nida being discriminated against right from the start but the drama highlights the issue even more when Manav Kaul’s Dacunha, a Christian character, is sidelined by his Hindu subordinates. The religious complexity might get misunderstood by those who can’t read the subtext of the narrative, but writer and director Patrick Graham tries to effectively communicate the sensitive subject.
Overall, Ghoul is an interesting watch. I wish there was more to it, but a short and crisp series is better than a dragged on show.

Selection Day is the story of two teen brothers trapped in the mad obsession of their compulsive father. In tracing Radha and Manju’s journey from their village in Madhya Pradesh to becoming star cricketers of a Mumbai school, the first season of Selection Day touches upon several pressing issues—parental pressure, domestic violence, India’s cricket craze, the urban-rural divide, unashamed commercialisation of education, teen angst and homosexuality. But in trying to show it all, it spreads itself too thin, thus failing to create any real impact.
one of the best things about the show is its casting. There is Ratna Pathak Shah as Mrs. Weinberg, a feisty principal fighting a lost battle to save her school—the last living memory of her dead husband—from corporatisation. There is also Mahesh Manjrekar, who plays Tommy Sir, a closeted cricket coach with a murky past and an unrealised dream to train a legend. And finally, there is Rajesh Tailang as the boys’ eccentric father who will stop at nothing to make them what he wants them to be.Though the narrative’s pace is slow, the scenes jump context.Selection Day is a story of cricket and male ambition, and hence has no female characters of any real importance (not in the first season at least) other than Shah’s Mrs Weinberg.
With six episodes of 20 minutes each, the first season essentially lays out the premise and introduces the characters. The field is set, the audience waiting, the players ready. Now all they have to do is deliver.

Girls Hostel’ is a part of Whisper’s ongoing #MeriLifeMereRules campaign which aims at encouraging audiences to stand up for what they believe in and to live life by their own rules. This 4-part original series stars Ahsaas Channa, Simran Natekar, Srishti Srivastava and Parul Gulati in pivotal roles; and will revolve around the bonds they forge and the life experiences they nurture.
Girls Hostel is a Girliyapa Original Series directed by Chaitanya Kumbakonam. The narrative explores the everyday lives of 4 Dental College Students – Richa, Milli, Jo, and Zahira, as they come together to deal with their own personal issues; right from overbearing parents to eccentric wardens to the mean girls they encounter. Girls Hostel is a humorous roller coaster ride, rife with real human emotions coupled with relatable hostel experiences. The character arc of all leading roles is explored clearly, be it Richa– who changes from being a mousy, hesitant new girl to a confident person, or Jo– a ‘lone wolf’ who learns to accommodate and warm up to her roommates.
Girliyapa, in its signature style, manages to put across serious issues without sounding preachy. Also, the preppy, empowering background music adds to the overall aesthetics of the show.
The show is made in association with Whisper, and in every episode, it is integrated perfectly into the storyline. So, bonus points for proper brand integrations.
A perfect mixture of comedy and drama makes Girls Hostel an entertaining watch worth your while.

Dustbin reviewed Delhi Crime
The seven-part series, expertly shot, takes us back to the crime that we all wish had never taken place. The word ‘heinous’ took on a new meaning after that December 2012 night, when a young woman was mercilessly raped and mutilated on a moving bus, as her male friend cowered in the front, helpless and beaten.
We all know what happened, and how it happened, because we followed the unflagging media reportage, and witnessed (and, in some instances, participated in) the outpouring of grief and anger which swept the Capital. The citizens of Delhi were forced to shake off their customary apathy, and take to the streets. The brutality of the attack shocked everyone.
Delhi Crime is a fictionalized crime drama, based on the painstaking investigation which led to the capture of the six men who attacked the couple.
The show’s narrative, however, merely positions the protests as an annoying inconvenience that the poor policemen have to deal with. All other characters—protesters, families of the culprits, victim’s kin, media, politicians and civil society—spout synthetic dialogues that help them fit perfectly into the narrative of how the Delhi Police fought a brave battle to nab the culprits and earned very little praise for it.
Delhi Crime gets so desperate to give the police a clean chit that the protagonist of the show, DCP Vartika Srivastav, played by Shefali Shah, is shown brusquely telling the male survivor that since a PCR van has no amenities, the delay in the police spotting them and hence, their getting medical help, is somewhat understandable. The investigating team also includes several station heads and sub-inspectors that make up the ensemble, alongside the Commissioner of Police and the Delhi Chief Minister, who have small roles as the season goes on.
On the whole though, Delhi Crime does a commendable job of showcasing the extremes of India's capital city — the worst and the best — from the heinous crimes committed by the six individuals to the police officers working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects, sacrificing their personal lives in the process.

'Criminal Justice'plays out the crime investigation, courtroom intrigue and prison horror in bouts of brilliantly written scenes by Shridhar Raghavan. Criminal justice tells us about the subverted judicial system is far more relevant than the 'thriller' intentions that plat out on the surface of this edge-of-the-seat crime drama.
While every actor is in-sync with the dark gripping mood of a crime that is not as simple as it seems, no one gets it better than Pankaj Tripathi. He plays a sleazy low-down lawyer slimming it out at police station pimping for desperate clients, Pankaj brings to his character a mortal centre in spite of his seeming dissipation. Its good to have Jackie Shroff in this series and he seems to enjoy the character which is very much in his 'beedu' style.
The series, after Aditya(Vikrant Massey) is jailed, is divided into two distinct parts. In one we follow the criminal trail of the incident and the other half follows Aditya's journey in jail and how he transforms completely.
The best part of the show is it's intriguing and completely congruent with the style and tone of a crime series. The series also finds substantial support which increases tention and soothes inwqual part.

Dustbin reviewed Hostages
Hostages ia a thriller that offers nothing new in terms of the story it tells. Tosca chopra plays a doctor who holds the family together during the crises but has no idea about what has been going on under her nose in her own family for a while now. Her husband, Sanjay(Paruin Dabas) is in dire financial straits, her 18 year old daughter, Shaina(Malhar Rathod)is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's baby, her younger son, Shovan (Sharad Joshi),is a hacker who has leaked his school exam papers only to impress his girlfriend.
The family is taken hostage by a group of ultra moronic and amateur criminals, led by ex-cop Prithvi Singh(Ronit Roy). The captors wants the doctor to kill the state's chief minister when she operates on him the next day. The doctor and her family try all the lamest tricks to get out of the situation.
Hostages is neither very satisfying nor it can be ignored completely. The series concludes with few unanswered questions which might be answered in the second season.
