Air date: 06 Oct '06 - 50 episodesKenichi: The Mightiest Disciple is a Japanese manga by Syun Matsuena serialized in the weekly manga magazine Shōnen Sunday. This manga is a remake of Tatakae! Ryōzanpaku Shijō Saikyō no Deshi, which was serialized in the monthly manga magazine Shōnen Sunday Super, publishing five tankōbon between 2000 and 2002. The first tankōbon was published on August 9, 2002. An anime adaptation by Tokyo Movie Shinsha aired 50 episodes from October 2006 to September 2007. Brain's Base produced OVAs for the series, which continue from the Ragnarok Arc. The first OVA was released on March 14, 2012, the second OVA was released on June 18, 2012, and a third OVA was released on November 16, 2012.

1. The Place Where Heros Gather
07 Oct '06While running late for class, Kenichi bumps in to the new transfer student Miu. At the karate club, Kenichi is challenged by another student Daimonji for a match. With the loser losing the right to be a member of the club. On the way home, Kenichi is awed when he sees Miu easily defeat a group of thugs. On Miu's advice, he heads to the Ryōzanpaku dojo to train in martial arts.

2. The First Step The Start of the Battle
14 Oct '06Kenichi begins his training at the Ryōzanpaku dojo under the guidance of Akisame. The training focuses on building strength and stamina. Concerned about Kenichi's fight with Daimonji, Miu secretly teaches him a stepping technique to maneuver around. Even though Kenichi is able to defeat Daimonji at the challenge, he yields his membership of the karate club after being accused of using a throw in a karate match.

3. Strenght and Courage for Protecting Justice
21 Oct '06After watching Kenichi defeat Daimonji, Tsukuba, the strongest member of the karate club, gets suspicious of Kenichi's abilities. At the school Miu, joins the girl's gymnastics club and soon becomes the center of attention after displaying her abilities at gymnastics. Kenichi desperately tries to avoid Tsukuba, but is soon caught and gets beaten to a pulp. Seeing Kenichi repent his loss to Tsukuba, Akisame decides to start training him in some martial arts techniques.

4. Fighting Hell! To Fight Or Not To Fight

13 Jan '07After his defeat with Shinosuke Tsuji, the masters decided to have Kenichi live with them. This would include 24 hour hell-like training.
