In 2033, people who are near death can be “uploaded” into virtual reality hotels run by 6 tech firms. Cash-strapped Nora lives in Brooklyn and works customer service for the luxurious “Lakeview” digital afterlife. When L.A. party-boy/coder Nathan’s self-driving car crashes, his high-maintenance girlfriend uploads him permanently into Nora’s VR world.

When a 27 year old coder Nathan Brown finds himself on his death bed after his car crashes into a truck, he is forced to take one of the two options, either die trying and go to heaven or get "uploaded" to a place called Lakeview the place of Afterlife. His girlfriend Ingrid emotionally blackmails him to chose the latter option. After that everything isn't all peace and happiness.
I enjoyed watching this show that consisted of 10 episodes and hopefully they have a new season coming. The message that was initially brought up was how the rich take advantage of the people from the lower economy. It's sprinkle coated with hilarious dialogues and scenes. The plot obviously has its own flaws... |
