As a devoted fan of the US series ‘The office’, I would admit that I was highly disappointed by its carbon copy remake released by Hotstar under the same name. The remake could not incorporate the humor of the original series and comes out as lame and bland. The show feels more like a translation series of the original one and there is absolutely no originality or spark in the entire show. It is extremely monotonous and to top it of, it is the remake of the most disliked season of the US version of the show that is the first season. I don’t understand the need of doing this to such a high rated show. All in all the show for me was a huge disappointment.

The classic deserved better
As much as I wanted to like to this show, with every increasing minute only emotion I could muster up was despise. With already, some great Indian mockumentary-style web content present like 'the better life foundation,' it was fair to expect at least some effort by the writing team to make this adaptation of a beloved Tv series to be at least entertaining.

Amidst awful casting and terrible character portrayal, the asinine dialogues are just excruciatingly painful to bear. Google would have done a better job at translating the dialogues verbatim from the original series than the writers did. A lack of dedication and haste to just push out the series is apparent. to address the elephant, what's up with Jagadeep Chadda (Mukul Chadda) and that repulsive accent of his?

The Only actor even remotely trying is Gopal Dutt as T.P. Mishra and at least grasps the role's ethos accurately. Sayandeep Sengupta as Amit and Samridhi Dewan as Pammi are equally abhorrent. Do yourself a solid favor and put your precious data bandwidth to better use.

I guess WE've all watched the OG "The Office" tv series a long time ago. And hoonestly i was a little surprised as I was NOT expecting an Indian remake of this series. But you know , It has its own zest. The pilot episode introduces the characters and we can easily tell who's who (those who've watched it before), and the layout of the surrounding is also pretty similar.
Its has a more funny outlook to it, i think that's a change. Though I personally am not a BIG fan but i wouldn't compel anyone to watch it. Also we can watch the original for the full authentic feel.

Dobi reviewed The Office
Considering how much fans were angry when HotStar announced a remake of this American classic, I'm going to tread carefully down this path. Honestly, the originals are the best, almost always, barring a few exceptions. Hands down! However, the remakes aren't bad either and HotStar's The Office is one of those good, mind you not better, just a good remake. It's a well adapted Indian version with Mr. Chaddha in place of Michael Scott. A lazy script though. If the creative team had put in some more efforts of building a slightly more original script with still more original dialogues, it would have come out a lot better. This remake, and things couldn't be said more truthfully, wasn't as bad as I had expected.

A Smart Adaptation
The Office is an Indian comedy series by Hotstar. It is the Indian adaptation of the much acclaimed The Office US which in turn was adaptation of the UK version by BBC. To take a show as famous and loved the office and adapting it for Indian audience is not an easy task, but Hotstar does it. A complaint that fans might have is that Michael Scott cannot be replaced and the show should not be touched. I assure you as someone who has been a great fan of the US series, give the show a chance, watch it, it will grow on you. Even though the storyline is same, the characters are 100% Indian. You will not be disappointed
