This movie is based on a #trueStory of human-rights and criminal lawyer, Shahid Azmi, who was murdered while defending the wrongly accused by the law in terrorist activities. Though this movie is
#offbeat it is very much #inspiring at the same time. You may feel that this movie becomes very slow and #boring in the middle but the end turns out rather #dark. In this movie we are confronted with some harsh questions on religious fundamentalism and flawed legal investigations. Rajkumar Rao gave an amazing performance with his splendid acting skills he just dived into his role and help us to connect directly with the character of Shahid.

This Hansal Mehta directed movie is worth a watch. A biopic of Shahid Azmi, an advocate who was famous for representing people falsely accused in anti-state cases, especially Muslims. Shahd gets killed, the murder is still unsolved. Rajkumar Yadav did a brilliant role as Shahid. And Hansal Mehta also did an exceptional job by keeping away obvious Bollywood dramas from this movie. The film neither tries to romanticise Azmi’s life nor tries to demonize him. It tries to show us a perspective though. Shahid is about courtrooms wherein life and death decisions are made. And Shahid also becomes the reflection of the country in itself.
