Sairat is a story set in Maharashtra's village. It seems like a simple love story,an old school formula, a poor boy felling in love with a rich girl,and they run away from their families, to be together forever. But it is a river, which seems shallow from top, but is really deep and dark from within. Though they run away, but not only to be together,but away from their families,which will kill them,if they found out these two. Their struggle to survive in a new city all by themselves, their hardships, and pursuit to live a happy life. First half is full of enjoyment and dance and amazing music,a love story,it looks all happy but second half shows their real struggle,journey ahead. It's a Marathi movie, but it resonates completely,to everyone,it touches you heart, a gripping story, a must watch

Real life love story of inter-caste couple portrayed without being tented by deceptive story. Along with love story, powerful bond of friendship is heart touching. No skepticism about its success. It took Marathi cinema to a new height.
