Hop-in-Hop-Off bus tour: A letdown as always

Imtiaz Ali wanted to be a Travel agent but unfortunately, his parents forced him to become a film director. Nonetheless, he could have spent more than an opening song in depicting the harshness and complexities of a Tour Guide's job ( much like subtle elements in The Guide) but he chose to use 150 minutes to show a pretentious love which one could never relate. Except for last 5 minutes, the film stays in Europe which I feel is the films biggest flaw. The filmmaker made the same mistake as Shad Ali in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom by putting the story outside India. The end result, the connection is lacking. Further the climax or anti-climax maybe something new for Indian cinema, but seems lazy.

The great first half is let down by the predictable and dragged second half. The music is a big let down too. Don't have high hopes, this film is not taking SRK back to the throne of Bollywood. Aamir has it secured for sure. SRK should focus more on roles and stories that connect with his audience in India and not outside. It's too late to try to be classy.

@antriksh.pandey I think SRK is not to be blamed for this one. He made the 2nd half watchable.
