O my God. What a Director Sonam Nair. Awards are nothing in front of sonam nair. The serial every second what a realistic movement unbelievable. Only if she gave some happy twist at end it is sonepe suhga (hindi word).

Starring Dia Mirza and Rohit Raina, Kaafir revolves around the story of a woman, Kainaaz, who, on accidentally crossing over into Kashmir from the POK, is mistook to be a militant and therefore, lodged in jail. Incidentally, Vedant, a lawyer-turned- journalist, find his hands on a footage of Seher, Kainaaz's daughter. Hell bent on finding the 'truth' about Kainaaz, he embarks on journey that includes a series of interviews with her. Depicting the stoic and poignant reality, it is a fine specimen of a good storyline centred around the background of the valleys of Kashmir.

One thing I got from watching this web series is that its not for Faint Hearted people at all. Its a series set up in Kashmir depicting Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina. Its an #inspiring #truestory of a Pakistani girl who crosses Indian Kashmir border and then is suspected of being a militant and thus faces jail for 8 long years and gives birth to her daughter behind the bars. Her case is then taken up by lawyer-turned journalist Vedant Rathod played by Mohit Raina who is sympathetic towards her after he learns her story. This is a #beautiful yet #depressing story at the same time.

Dustbin reviewed Kaafir
Kaafir is a complex, layered drama, brimming with emotions and passions – passion for the motherland, passion for beliefs, and passion for what it means to be human. It is also a tale where serendipity, fate, Karma, call it what you will, steers the plot through the elaborate twists, turns and tumbles that the narrative embarks upon.
Kaafir is the story of Kainaaz Akhtar (Dia Mirza), a Pakistani woman who is forsaken by her lout of a husband for being infertile. A cruel twist of fate lands her in the Indian side of Kashmir and into the hands of the Indian Army who, assuming her to be a militant, banishes her to jail. It also deals with the story of Sehar (Dishita Jain), Kainaaz’s sweet, innocent six-year-old daughter, who’s born in a Kashmiri jail, and is the product of the most heinous crime against a woman. The birth of Sehar is a bitter irony for Kainaaz – it proves that she’s not infertile after all. Then comes the story of Vedant Rathod, a lawyer with lofty ideals. He believes in the finer values of being human – kindness, compassion, and more significantly, the basic goodness of the human race. Certain scenes are truly remarkable.
Mohit Raina has put in an absolutely outstanding performance. His placid, penetrating eyes, combined with an intensely creased forehead, serve to convey emotions that would be out of bounds for a lesser actor.
Dia Mirza dazzles splendidly in the role of Kainaaz. Her mild expressions manage to mask the turmoil within. But her eyes convey everything that words do not– anxiety, for Sehar’s well-being; longing, when she looks at the open sky from within the confines of the jail; betrayal, censure, and contempt, when she looks at her rapist with eyes fiery enough to burn a hole through his being.
Kaafir is a gripping story that could have done with a tighter script and quicker pace. Kaafir is definitely an impressive series to watch and savour, whenever you feel the need to indulge in great content.

Must watch!
Starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina, Kaafir is based on the true story of Shainaz, an innocent Pakistani girl who was stuck between the hatred and prejudice between the two countries. The show covers a grieving Indo-Pak political context where the Border Security Forces hold Shainaz captive as they mistakenly consider her a militant. It shows the whole conflicting situation of Kashmir in a new beaming light. I absolutely admired the ease with which the whole cast touches such a sensitive boundary. The chemistry between the cast is remarkable and exquisite. The show has astounding cinematography, heart-warming love story, beautiful narrative and an excellent plot and is a must watch. The show can be streamed on Zee5.
