The film delves deep into the world of the fashion industry and what it hides beneath its facade of glamor and glitz. The peer-pressure,the lobbying,the underhand means to attain contracts and the sheer pressure of presenting oneself in the best possible manner at all times-all of these aspects are told,very realistically. The world outside is contrasted with the workings of the Fashion Industry and the film is able to pull a griping picture of what lies beneath.The plot does not present surprises or unexpected thrills,but it presents a steady,convincing portrayal of reality itself. The film demands attention more importantly,because of the performance from its lead cast-the duo powerful actresses Priyanka Chopra,and Kangana Ranaut. Kangana is effortless in her tragic portrayal of the depressed,homeless addict who was once the eye-candy of the Industry. Priyanka,on the other hands easily fits into the character of the small-town girl who aspires to make it big, The rest of the cast is laudable. Madhur Bhandarkar,yet again shines with a film about the Industry,after his critically applauded Page Three
